The ‘Sunshine Band’ would like to remind all members that there is a cease fire at the moment and that the war on positivity ended on 10th of September 2010. The board of the sunshine band would like to distant itself from the dissident negativity that has arisen since Saturday’s defeat away at Doncaster. The moaning, groaning and ranting has come from other factions and is absolutely nothing to do with the ‘sunshine band’.

The ‘sunshine band’ sees these actions by fickle, hypocritical Unitedite’s as extremely detrimental to the peace process. We would like to categorically deny any wrong doing and position ourselves away from this part time. The band would like to assure the ‘clappers’ that they are committed to the peace process and do not associate themselves with the dissident ‘knockers’ group. The sunshine band would like to distance themselves from these part time ‘knockers’.

The sunshine band board are deeply saddened by the extreme rise in complaints and negative posts that arose on Saturday after 7pm. This kind of activity makes it extremely difficult for the band to find things to complain about. A niche can usually be found, but these part time ‘knockers’ can really throw things out. Gary Speed was the messiah on Tuesday evening and one poor result and every part time ‘knocker’ is grumbling and groaning into next week. Funny how no one complained after an impressive victory against Hull (except the sunshine band core) but when United get convincingly beaten by a better team there is a barrage of negativity.

We understand that the peace process is in grave danger, but would like to assure the ‘clappers’ that this is not the work of the ‘sunshine band’. We will work with Dunc and fellow clappers to highlight and expose these sham criticists. We will stop at nothing to address this part time, blowing hot and cold negativity. These caprice part time moaners and groaners bring shame on the illustrious ‘sunshine band’ and are not fit to fight in the war on positivity.

update

The sunshine band had an emergency board meeting today to discuss the rise in negativity on the s24su forum. It appears that things are so bad at Bramall Lane that long term, perpetual moaners are being out shone by part time moaners. In the top priority meeting in Ollessendro's shed, the board discussed how they might address the fact that United have got so bad that even the happiest of clappers have thrown away their red and white spectacles and started to complain. As it stands the more negative posters are struggling to get any sort of reaction and the bait is not being taken. The 'sunshine band' board has come up with several potential options:

War on the fickle part time moaners
• A take over of the club in order to make things rosy again: Beighton Blade will take over as chairman, Lenners will be chief executive and Ollessendro, Micalijo, Fiery and Torrix will sit on the board
Positivity  : a coalition agreement between the ‘sunshine band’ and the ‘clappers’ will be explored (the ‘sunshine clappers’). Ollessendro plans to meet with DuncanDisorderly to discuss a potential deal between the two previously polar factions.
Exile: the forum has become so negative that even the ‘sunshine band’ has become depressed. The band are considering a break away from Red and White and are exploring options.

Apropos of not very much... What generates the three stars on the thread when viewed from the blades chat section?

Number of views? Frequency?

Look at the top of the thread - there's a grey bar there. One of the options is "Rate this thread", and it looks like somebody has. Probably Olle.;)

Think it's the number of stars Ollie has on his jumper.

Top Post Olli !
I was even thinking of nipping down to Chesterfield next Tuesday myself!

The 'it appears' bit has got you. It appears because you dont go so you dont know.
The tatics have worked and the moaners have come out and it does not matter have far you try to distant yourself from them you are all together.
Unfortunately for you it is part of the cubs constitution that Negativety will never have a place on the board and if deceived in to doing so by accident the club will soon dismiss it.

Well done Clappers everything is rosy.

does that mean he can cook the burgers and work on the drive thru?

Olle started out mopping the floor. But now... now he's washing lettuce. Soon he'll be on fries; then the grill. And pretty soon, he'll make assistant manager, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in...

:D

Olly's talking to himself again.

you just couldn't resist broomhill, could you!? And now you've let the side down (and the thread has 3 stars) ......

Well said Boss. I've become so disillusioned with all the part-time negativity I could hardly bring myself to post recently. I would also be cautious about discussions with DuncanDisorderly, I don't know him but I bet he's got shifty eyes, tread cautiously my friend.

Top stuff Ollie.

I feel I am a voice of moderation nowadays, totally behind Speedo, sticking to a post -Blackie truce. Steel came along, said the Watford game was the worst of all time and it's just a free for all. I've tried it with Steel for his ultra negativity but didn't really work so we need somat - exile is the best bet for me.

Great article in Guardian today about FC United of Manchester.

Are you auditioning for the part of black kettle or tea pot?

exile is the best bet for me.

Dont build people's hopes up.

What? More interesting than the VALAD share price????!

To be fair mic, you do provide me with a good sparring partner. You're not all bad :D

It's a sorry situation Mic. I find that I might have to become a hypocrite, like the rest of these part time moaners, and blindly back Speedo. I've been lambasting people for their blind faith, buyt now i'm starting to feel that I have no choice but to shut my trap and hope he turns things around. If he does turn things around (fingers crossed) all these part time moaners will become part time clappers and I can go back to being a negative bugger to get a reaction. It's either that or getting more and more niche focused and extreme in my negative. Of course there is always Beightons' suggestion ...... al out WAR

Yes, moderation. I am 100% with our manager who has a near impossible task. When I have to caution you on a ridiculous reaction to the Watford game we know that the world has gone mad. You set your stall out with that post Steel and you say you speak with clarity about SUFC well since that incredible post I aint got a clue if you think we're improving, if you're happy with Speed, if you trust McCabe. Does it depend what side of bed you get out of?

Good luck Speedo. F*** The Property and Up The Blades.

Which buggers have been rating this thread as 1 star??! Is it you SV!? ;)

Then we basically agree. Its not difficult to understand that mic.

Get you :D "I have to caution you" - I had no idea you were an administrator mic. Anyone else would consider that to be condescending but thankfully I got up on the "right side of the bed" this morning so I wont take that view.

I'm happy with Speed, I'm not happy with the playing staff. I keep saying that yet you find it hard to understand which only leads me to the conclusion that you're playing a game.....one that I am having as much fun with as you. As for McCabe.....he's had enough of SUFC and wants his money back. Thats my take on him and I think its fair enough, it doesnt matter whether I trust him or not.

Keep setting them up mic, I'll keep knockin em down

I wouldn't dream of it, trying to have a laugh as a man of moderation about the Watford game hence 'caution.' Don't take it wrong way and glad you seemingly didn't.

Same as me then! Speedo doing fine but players largely shocking, but I still reckon you were way OTT re watford in a sense that I was about Blackwell. Anyway, I'm with you. Up The Blades

Did you go to Leeds? That'll keep me going atmosphere wise for a while - felt like a final bow for many though I must admit and away followings now getting v embarrassing and a dwefinite reflection of what people are thinking about the club (and a reflection of price as well I admit).

I know it doesn't matter but I'd like to know if you trust him - and I don't for any second mean untoward fiscal affairs by the way. Read the forum stuff again from April - about no stone left unturned and fighting for success and mistakes re loan players etc and lost months after play-offs etc and ash clouds. It really is hilarious stuff.

I think you and I need to call a truce mic. We essentially agree on the broader issues surrounding SUFC. We just have a different way of putting our points across.

I understand that you felt my opinion of the Watford game was overly negative but I genuinely thought we were poor on the day and nothing will change my mind on that. Shockingly, we managed to top that game with a far more inept performance on Saturday. Those two games are as poor as ive seen us in the attacking third for quite some time. Just my opinion but I know some share it with me regarding the Watford game.

I couldnt make Leeds no. I was all set to buy the tickets but other things came up and at £30 a pop I didnt feel I would get the sort of value to make me want to shift other priorities. Sad really, because at one time I moved heaven and earth to get to away games.

McCabe? Personally I think he's a fairly honourable bloke that wants the best for SUFC. But I also think he's made mistakes and looks at football as a project he's tried but ultimately failed with. He wants his money back and who can blame him. It doesnt matter whether he's a millionaire or not.....what is owed is all relative. I appreciate the things he's achieved and the things he's tried to achieve but I can sense he wants out.

I think it IS more a price thing this season.

I had junked away games whilst Hoofy was around and was looking forward to getting back into it this season until I saw the prices that people seem to think is fitting for a second tier game.
I'm not going to pay over £25 for a game at this level (and I baulk at that) so I've been left staying at home. Never thought I'd be looking forward to going to Millwall but at £22 they seem to have a dose of realism about them.
