Wilder isn’t completely infallible, earlier this season he insisted on playing Ogbene/Chong with Tanganga at RB, he only switched to Seriki / Brooks after injuries forced his hand.

He was ready to sell N’Diaye to Barnsley, he wanted to send Peck out so he could bring Dozell in, his big plan for the summer was Harry Darling and Jimmy Dunne. It’s fair to say he has ‘a type’ and young players with different life experience and upbringing don’t do well in the environment he creates.

They won't sign him. Doubt there's that much money for Genoa to spend on a young centre half. Outside of the usual big 6 or 7 then none of them spend that kind of money these days.

He’ll be back in the summer. Italian teams have notoriously got no money except a select few. I remember Italian clubs being linked to Berge and as little as 8m being quoted in local outlets.

Might not be bad if he remains on the books.

We’ll lose Mee and Bindon and it’s clearly very few rate McGuinness so it leaves only Tanganga as a fit centre back.

I was a bit drunk there so completely understandable if my analysis was a bit unclear. But you still got my point - I am not super excited about this one. Based on his form and performances at Malmlö lately he has nothing to do in our first-team. However, young players have an extraordinary ability to adjust quickly to a new level. He is young and did look good at times last year but I feel we are overpaying here - just a couple of solid performances over the course of 18 month is not enough to convince me...

This just seems a very strange turn of events.

I suspect that we signed him thinking he was a really promising defender. Which he still may be.
The fact that Selles didn't really get him in for a few games and then Wilder really hasn't seems to not indicate he is ready yet.

Genoa looking to loan with a buy option for a profit seems crazy. I can only assume they were looking at him last summer and feel his potential is quite high.

He's either going to go to Genoa and play well and they agree to sign him. And we as a club then think it was a mistake because his ceiling is quite high.
Or he goes on loan and they don't sign him (I feel this is more likely) and then we still have him this summer.

Cant' say if he's good or bad though, we haven't seen him play!

That article says he's only featured for the U21s on one occasion - is that correct? If so, that's very weird

I've never seen him play but the view from was concerning and his stats were shite at Malmö. Really odd signing. Can only think we saw he had a Swedish cap so must be promising. That said Genoa must see something in him too
