Not the first time Keegan was rejected for being a shortarse, happened with Donny too at the start of his career. It's a wonder anyone took a punt on him at all

His schoolboy hero was Alick Jeffrey of Doncaster Rovers until he waited for ages outside the players entrance to ask for his autograph. When Alick came out of the players entrance he said he was "too busy to sign autographs". This upset Kevin and he said he would never be too busy to sign an autograph.

Yeah, the contrary to how Brighton and a few others are working. If the board or the technical team have a clear and outlined a long-term recruitment policy - both when it comes to players and managers, these type of crazy signings can be avoided to a bigger extent. To me it seems we have been a bit clueless for a very long time and basically just brought in players without a proper plan for them. I wouldn't be surprised it's agent driven as well - as opposed to actually mapping out players (near or far, young or experienced etc) that would fit with the club's strategy.

If there is a idea and consensus on how we should work to achieve results over time, we wouldn't have to start from scratch every time we sign a new manager who want's to get the players he need for his particular formation or way of playing. If there would be a solid long term plan the next manager would be hired on the basis of that. There will always be some differences but for the long term development of the club and the result, it's key to work within a strategy and changes of staff and players would be a lot more seamless than going from extremes... It takes time to implement these things but once we an idea that we firmly believe in we need to stick to it rather than taking decisions on the basis of short term results.

Could this be the start of 'the plan' now?

All they need of the fanbase is patience, which unfortunately with us Blades, doesn't come easily.

We were after him at one point when he was at Donny allegedly, I used to have a pic of a newspaper clipping saying we were interested in signing him.

Honestly can’t remember or the exact words in the clipping but we were definitely interested in signing him if the paper was to be believed. I’ll still have the pic on some old device somewhere so it may turn up whenever I get around to putting everything onto the latest laptop I have.

Like what I've seen of him, but based on the comments from the Malmo fans, he is apparently not ready for the first team. Sounds similar to Bindon, in so much as he's talented, but a bit soft and inexperienced. Happy to be signing him for the future, but if our CBs this season end up being Bindon (young, inexperienced), Zatterstrom (young, inexperienced), Mee (too old), Robbo (wantaway, limited), which looks reasonably likely we are in for a rough ride.

Lets hope Mee still has legs in him.

Turns out the Ryman league division one south and west is a lower level than league one/championship

We knew she was dating someone pretty rich cos he had a Ford Capri. There was much excitement when we found out it was Keegan.

I can confirm that is true, when I collected autographs in my youth Liverpool were staying at the Hallam Towers hotel & Keegan sat & signed autographs for ages. It was the morning of the September 1974 match at the lane,he was still suspended after his sending off in the Charity Shield.

I'd say tomorrow with possibly Ben Mee signing on the same day which is why we've waited as to shut the fans up and be like look look we have signed somebody!! But I dunno

Sounds good to me. Mee may not have the pace but that was never particularly his game anyway. The Swede is fast though, if I recall his info correctly. So that's two options at LCB... Plus Robinson can be sold.

We’ve still got all that to go through hopefully he’s announced before Saturday maybe Friday if we really get a shift on but more realistically early next week. If Bindon gets injured we have to play a left footed on the right and all of a sudden we are short on numbers again. Let’s get players in before making the same mistake of selling without replacements like we just did with Anel

Might it be that we're trying to upgrade him to one of the senior work permit slots rather than the exception gap we freed up by moving Cáceres on?
