Someone for the future, definitely, but we need to get a few lads in who will make us better right now, not towards the end of the season or next year. I'd be stunned if he would go in and deliver straight from the start. I sort of like the signing, but only if we sign more qualified and experienced players who we come in and deliver straight from the start of the season. He is one for the future - not even clocked up 40 senior games in the Swedish league (the 23rd in Europe, behind leagues from Cyprus, Czech Republic, Israel and Serbia). Very good and promising, but just want to put it into perspective in terms what to expect from him.

July verdict. Im still sort of positive long-term, but not for Sheff Utd and not in England. His style of play will probably fit better elsewhere.

It quite different, actually. Anel was an experienced international with Bosnia/Sweden, and had played in the top league in three different countries, including French Ligue 1. Also performed well over a longer period of time.

Traoré have not really proven anything apart from doing well in a team that dominated the league (offensively) last year. They play an attacking 4-3-3 system where he is one of the forwards/winger with almost only attacking duties. This, in combination with the best midfield in the league and high possession allows him to excel. Im not convinced how quick he could adjust to our formation, and how he would manage PL level in addition to playing for a underdog side that will have to battle rather than anything else. Although, he could come in handy when we are pressed and need someone quick on the counter

I’ve been sharing my views on that specific recruitment before. Still, I think my analysis was pretty much on point. A player that would eventually become a top 5 league given the right circumstances and platform. I was pretty clear on why I thought it was the wrong decision for us at the time. Did not fit with any transfer strategy (if we even had one) and it was obvious we did not have a plan for him.

Not surprised about the outcome and the (lack of) impact he had with us, similarly to how I am not surprised how good he was last year in the Swiss league. One of the standout players and based on his performances, there is an obviously lot of interest around him and rumours are saying that he will be sold for €15-18m to Bologna, 9th in Serie A last season.

And in general - any player should be evaluated individually, based on their qualities and characteristics, not by the level they are at. Could be a factor, yes, but not decisive. Just because one player is unsuccessful in a certain environment does not mean that you can use that as a benchmark for any player from that league/level - it’s more complex than that.

There are quite a few players that I can think of - off the top of my head - that left the Swedish league (with no limited experience from a higher level) but did quite well. Mostly because: they were good players AND they were acquired by clubs that had a solid plan for them. A few examples: Odilon Koussouno, Yasin Ayari, Nat Adjei, Sebastian Nanasi, Oliver Dovin, Malick Yalcouyé, Bazoumana Touré, Hugo Larsson, Samuel Dahl, Youssef Salech, Torbjörn Heggem, Jacob Ondrejka, Isak Hien etc.

Regarding Zätterström - he was called up once due to several injuries. Made his debut in the 89th minute when Sweden was 6-0 up against Azerbadjzan in a Nation League match. Never called up again after that and now, as many already have mentioned, is on the bench for Malmö.

Based on those stats perhaps we should play him on the wing. The two things he seems good at is dribbling the ball and winning the ball high up the pitch.
