It will be interesting if he insists on playing full strength or rest some of the players. When Harry got booked in the 1st half, I was saying "sub him at half time!" cos I feared he might get a 2nd booking later on

Same here! He should have been booked early on for the handball. I expect a below-strength team - within reason and the FA rules - on Tuesday. Today was, effectively, our last serious workout before Wembley.

If it leads to a loss, it'll be a pisser listening to 5k Rovram fans celebrating. I think they'll have enough on their plate if they go up...

He confirmed on RS that the semi final is his priority so I would expect changes. Baxter has a sprained ankle and Scougill has a tight hamstring. He also mentioned players were showing fatigue.

I would have thought the back 4 will be Freeman,Harry,Hill,Harris(so Collins can be rested),I would play Paynter up front and try and find a way of resting Coady Flynn and Murphy. He could push Harris to left midfield I suppose and bring in Kennedy

The Millers are over excited about Tuesday. However NC is clearly thinking Sunday is the only one that matters

I'd expected more rotation in the games before the semi final. I would accept a poor result vs Rotherham if it meant we were a little more rested, a little more prepared next Sunday.

Although we've done excellent, I think it was a little naive to think we could keep winning almost every league and cup match for the rest of the season with such a small squad.

Same back 4 as bartman. Midfield wise wouldn't mind Khan or Dimaio getting a chance (or both) and Davies on one wing. Definitely Paynter up top, basically play as few regulars as possible. Although due to his love of a small squad Clough hasn't left himself with huge room for manoeuvre.

are we extending Freeman's loan? If so, then we can name only 5 players in our matchday squad. I think Coady (who is one of our 6 loan players) should be rested if we play Freeman

I'm not exactly sure who the second string are, they mostly out on loan aren't they? Do we stick load of young uns in for the game?

Rotherham fans already have this down as an away banker, if we play the kids it could be a painful nights viewing and a lot of painful crowing over the next few months from the Billy Big Timers.

It would allow the "reserves" to play "out of their skin" this Tuesday in an effort to make the Wembley squad

Should be finalised on Monday according to NC.

we only have 5 loan players don't we ?(Coady,Brayford,Davies,Freeman and Paynter). Harris is now a permanent signing until the end of next season. Have I missed someone

Where did Baxter get his ankle injury from, having come on in the last few minutes v Brentford?

I expected more rotation but I suppose you dont want players going 2 weeks without football and then being thrown in at Wembley. On Tuesday I'd go something like

Howard

Freeman
Hill
Collins
Harris

Davies
McGinn
Doyle
Diamo
Kahn/Calvert Lewin

Paynter

Really?

Fatigue is a concern. .If we start slow at Wembley I can see us struggling tbh.. We've played a lot of games recently ..rest the entire 1st eleven. .and give everything we've got from 1st whistle to last at Wembley. .

Haggerty F, Haggerty R, Tomkins, Noble, Carrick, Dobson, Dewhurst, Crapper, McIntyre, Treadmore and Davitt.

UTB!

No idea who any of those are, so yeah i'd go with that team! Feck Rotherham. I'd give em a 3-0 walkover and not bother turning up if it was in the rules.

EDIT: sorry, i do of course mean Rov'rum.

I'm kinda relieved in a way that we are just about out of the running for a play off spot. This gives Nige an easy task of selecting a side suitable for the day and resting key players for the semi knowing that it will have virtually zero impact on our league status next season. Had we still been in the running for a play off place this would have given him and us 'the supporters' a nerve racking week and twitchy bums time whilst watching the Rotherham match hoping and praying none of our squad got injured during the 90 mins against Of that game. Thankfully this isn't the case so we can go Tuesday and enjoy the match win or lose. Then start looking forward to the big day on Sunday with hopefully a fully fit and rested blades 11. Up the blades and up the Nige!

Tbh, freshening the team up might actually give us the best chance for a win, same as we did vs Peterborough. I'd give Kennedy a run out at the very least, in for Collins.

Howard,
Freeman, Maguire, Kennedy, Harris/Hill
Davies, Dimaio*, McGinn, Doyle, Calvert-Lewin*
Painter

*no real idea where either plays....

Hill is right footed and has played in RB
