If nothing is changing in the back office we need someone who can operate in that environment. Someone who knows the lower leagues, knows who the top , young div one and two players are and can get them signed. Not someone who signs past it ex premier and championship players on big wages !

There was no coming back after losing a lot of fans after the Scunthorpe game.

The club were damned if they do, damned if they don't.
If they kept him (and based on his performance this season there was no reason why we should have) and he got off to a bad start next season, there'd be anarchy, with people demanding to know why the board were stupid in not sacking him now and it could have been a repeat of the situation that saw us in this league when Blackwell was sacked a few games in.

Glad he's gone at the time when a load of players can also be gotten rid of. Clean slate for a new manager to do a rebuild with his own players

Agree 100% with the last bit. But for me, let the manager manage. Fuck the "Technical board", just get a team of scouts that know what he wants, and go out and get the business done. Let the manager manage, and the beancounters count the beans and set the budgets. Don't fanny about appointing the manager, don't fanny about going after targets. Get the business going, and get it done. The opportunity is there to show true intent right across the club.

We did that, and the Clough Bros completely fucked us over in terms of who we brought in.

Swapping managers isn't going to help but Adkins had lost the fans (majority anyway) and barring a miracle I don't think he would win them back.
His football, tactics and signings in general were awful....his interviews laughable. So so disappointed in the guy.
