Really he was a failure before and obviously not good enough to the SPL, last type of player we need right now.

He was a failure before when he was 18 and played a handful of games? Really? Rangers signed him because he was good in the SPL, he got in the team of the season when at Motherwell.

Er ..... no thank you.

We have plenty of diminutive, slow, midfield players at the Club already.

Not what is needed at all .......

UTB & FTP

He's neither diminutive or slow.

He's a good all rounder who can score and assist.

I think anyone expecting better will be disappointed.

When i've seen him for Rangers he's looked a tidy footballer and certainly has the energy that we've missed in the midfield. If it was a choice of Hammond or Law I think, provided that Law would offer more than Hammond.

I also liked the look of Wilson at Centre Half, formerly of Hearts and now at Rangers.

Agree with that. I would assume, if there is interest, it's because McC has said, 'do one' to Adkins regarding Hammond. He certainly isn't the answer to the goal scoring issues from midfield at the head of a diamond. Moncur would suit that role if we could get him.

The club have shown interest in him before (pre Adkins). This could have some truth in it.

Yep, I remember us being linked at least once or twice in the past. Shame the Rangers opportunity came along for him, otherwise I think he'd already be here.

I think he'd be good on the right of a midfield three but possibly at the base as well, I could see him taking up that position as he gets older. He's suitable for 4-4-2 as well though, which is probably important. If he wasn't I don't think Adkins would want him.

Playing for Rangers (or Celtic) is like shooting fish in a barrel. Everything is stacked in your favour, and it's hard to judge how good players really are.

If you doubt that, consider that Celtic fans think Anthony Stokes is a goalscoring machine.

I know, and I know the Scottish lower divisions are piss poor. But Law's been a decent player for quite a while now, he did well at Rotherham and then Motherwell. Unless he's had a bad injury somewhere, which there's no suggestion of, then at 28 I don't see why he won't be the same player.

His debut was at home to Man U and it was a strange decision by Warnock I thought. I remember him playing at RB for the u16s and u18s. Saw his dad at the Academy matches

I was having a beer with a Blades mate last night and his eldest son used to be ITK, not so much anymore (for various reasons), but anyway he attended the McCabe meeting (corporate box meeting) and said pretty much, as others have said, McCabe was less than complimentary about NA and his signings. In fact he went to far as to say that he thought it was nailed on that Adkins was leaving.

He also said that McCabe said that he was going to have to fund the release of certain players (pay up their remaining contract) because "no one is going to come in and buy them".

That's interesting. Maybe we'll see one or two departures we don't expect.

Good times!

Maybe mate, who knows, I believe the information relayed to me was correct, in other words McCabe said it, just not sure if McCabe meant it, if you get my drift.

Earth shattering revelation from Law's wiki page:

"But as his contract is about to expire, Law attracted interests clubs from England and Scotland, like Scunthorpe United.[37] Manager Andy Scott says he optimistic for Law to stay at the club,[38] but soon admits Scott gave his best effort to keep Law.[39]"

Turnbull will have been at Scunthorpe at that time, won't he?

It's a no from me

Not good enough before and definitely not good enough now

Jim Phipps wasn't lying when he said it'd take three transfer windows.

Probably not mate, who knows.

The retained list will give us a big clue as to whether McCabe is really going to bite the bullet and ship out people who still have a year to go on their contracts.

Agree, but then is the money there for the new and improved investment model he's been talking about? As ever, Watch what they do, not what they say there gonna do.

Well it's either going to be an interesting summer or a miserable one, for us Blades fans.

The standard of Scottish football this last few years has declined.
A decade+ ago, Celtic/Rangers were being touted as potential PL entries if they moved on from the SPL.

Now, 2016. Celtic are an average Championship side, that hurts as a "CelticMan" but it's true. Rangers have spent the last few years in divisions that barely touch L1 standards at times. Lower leagues, think our Vanarama Conference.

Law would be a good signing for a L1 club, but if we're taking next season as the most challenging one in our history, I'd say no to signing him.
