Would like...now there’s a Duffy replacement and. Coutts understudy right there.

However, I believe that will be bollocks

Would be a great signing. Although two things, apparently he's a bit of a knob. And two, Wigan rejected a 10 million pound bid for him in January. Got many potential suitors which makes this unlikely.

Big, strong, proven goal scorer and leaving Wigan.
Worth a look as back up striker.

He’s a midfielder.

Good player and I wouldn’t be opposed to signing him as a squad player though, seeing as there wouldn’t be a transfer fee involved.

Linked with Pigs and Stoke I saw.

Could be a good back up for the Duffy role?

Always seemed to have bags of potential but never realised it.

How high are you expecting us to aim?
I think Freeman isn't only perfect for us but I can't really think of many better, in that price bracket.
I like Freeman, but he is 27 now and unlikely to have much of a resale value. Canos at Brentford (or Benrahma) would be my pick for that position, or Celina at Swansea.

Can play upfront saw him rip Stoke apart early last season when Wigan win 3-0 at The Brit!
Free transfer, another nugget like McG

Is Canos the lad who dribbled past the entire Leeds team the other week?
I really like the look of him.
22 as well, very good shout.

Id take him on a free as Duffy back up.

Good age, on the way up and with a point to prove at this level with his time at Man U which ticks some big Wilder boxes and he's shown to be a good player at champ level if the worst happens next season.

We need to build a good squad, not just a good first 11 so worst case scenario he is a good player who fills several areas (CAM, ST and CM) we need to improve without costing anything. Thats a big help for us as a whole.

Freeman is on an upward trajectory. Resale value shouldn't be an issue. He'll peak in his late 20s/early 30s, like Duffy. He relies more on skill and intelligence than any sort of athleticism. He's also more hardworking and a better fit for our team than others mentioned.

It's a yes from me

Int it interesting, I think of Freeman as being in a different, better, but still affordable bracket to Powell.

Maybe wrong as per usual but those touting players as back up for the Duffy role maybe surprised to see Duffy as back for to the Duffy role

I can see the attraction if you’re missing players who have one good game in three, keep getting injured and don’t look like they try very hard.

We need QUALITY.

If we don't get quality in the areas that it is needed then we will struggle.

Quality costs - don't buy = struggle early on = relegation fight early doors = struggle all season.

Point taken about Freeman and Powell - potentially they could both be McG mk 2 and potentially they might not be either.

Huddersfield hit the ground running first year, got points on the board which helped greatly in the run in...................just !

Quality.

Literally that's how Ipswich described mcg to a tee.

Generally McGoldrick was liked though mate. Not sure there were many complaints about his attitude. Most Wigan fans won’t give Powell the time of day, despite being top scorer. There’s a general perception that he’s not interested in football, just does it because it’s lucrative. That worries me.
