If the deal was right in terms of wages and length, 2 years max. Plus, he would have to satisfy the medical side of it. I wouldn't be against it. He's got undoubted ability. If we were interested though cw will no doubt have spoken to Paul Cook before about his attitude etc and if he doesn't receive a good reference then cw will stay clear and quite rightly so.

Generally McGoldrick was liked though mate. Not sure there were many complaints about his attitude. Most Wigan fans won’t give Powell the time of day, despite being top scorer. There’s a general perception that he’s not interested in football, just does it because it’s lucrative. That worries me.

A lot said that he just sauntered around the pitch etc. To be fair whenever I saw him for Ipswich he did that as well.

I like Freeman, but he is 27 now and unlikely to have much of a resale value. Canos at Brentford (or Benrahma) would be my pick for that position, or Celina at Swansea.

Jota, or his full name José Ignacio Peleteiro Ramallo as the Star seems to go with, has been linked again. He's a tidy player but didn't seem to excel last season for Brum. I'd prefer Canos too if honest.

Not that low a risk - his salary is high and he has a poor injury record.
