So the assuming Sunjihi is right (and as much as the despise the two faced bastard he's been accurate) who is going to be the next lucky leader of our pack?

Lump on Chris Wilder I reckon.

Further to the above post, Beattie's CV on LinkedIn is very interesting, not least in terms of how he sees himself having done at Accrington -

I really wouldn't count this possibility out, especially after his appearance at the Lane last Saturday (& the "team building exercise" later in the evening).

Makes you wonder why beattie was at Lane on Saturday. He was on Sky Sunday morning with Chris kamara talking about getting back into management. Neil as dof and beats as manager. Would we!

Out getting smashed with our wasters on Saturday night too.

Just what we need.

Nothing would surprise me anymore with our club. Wasn't cressy supposed to be there Saturday also. Is he going to be beattie assistant. All would be a cheap option for McCabe

If all this is true then honestly I don't care.

It will be someone out of work and cheap, the usual money saving McCabe style managerial appointment.

If Wilder is still at Northampton then will McCabe want to pay the £8.25p compensation to get him?

The majority of the board wanted Page rather than Adkins. You can see that Wilder might be attractive to them in light of this.

Why is he a two faced bastard ? he provokes interesting posts on a message board ,the fuel for the forum ,just ignore him if you feel so strongly.

Didn't someone say Beattie was with Joe Royle.

He'd be that DOF age and profile now.

I just don't see Beattie being mature enough.

Just as likely to go on the piss with the players than instill discipline.

I like Wilder hes learnt his trade the correct way , starting small , learning the pit falls , using motivation
to quote Ron Atkinson , its all how you use the 2 M,s , Movement and positioning

get it right and they will become a God

Thing is, you can only get it right with the correct budgetary backing, and the ability to buiild a Championship side worthy of staying up when promoted.

That won't come when your talent is sold and you are reduced to the embarrassment of signing also-rans and cast-offs and have a residual side of players no one is interested in. When was the last time someone made a bid for a player who was in form and we rejected it and made it publicly known? When was the last time United made a signing and you thought 'fucking get in' and didn't find yourself Googling him or trying to ignore the selling club's forums saying 'thank fuck for that' or 'won't miss the useless cunt'?

The manager can only do with what he has to hand. Some people on here are already saying it was a mistake to sack Clough and he should have been given more time. We have a provably weaker squad in terms of on field talent a year on and people are wanting Adkins booted out because they assume McCabe said 'go buy some players' he willingly spunked cash of gash signings, instead of players of real footballing worth. Yet there is no evidence to support this, even with Billy Sharp who is possibly single handedly keeping United out of a protracted relegation scrap.

Keep saying it. If they sack Adkins, McCabe gets another daft bastard to actively blame if we fuck it up next season. And we will.

Adkins has admitted the money to get in players was there, weve seen his in comings , woolford etc
Hes just not made us go get in there other than Sharp who hes had before and was keen to come home

Not one decent loan , no Codey type players have been utilised
we only sold Murphy , on his insistance
players who were just short of being good enough by a couple of astute signings have regressed under Adkins

HAve Barnsley spent big
have bradford pushed the boat out

Did Yeovil spend millions to go up
good managers would have taken what Adkins got and done far more with it
to save argueing one of the top 4 spending budgets in league one
a squad that had finished 5th and a club loan players would like to play in front of 20k if sold to like Warnock used to sell us to players

sorry but to me hes failed big time
Wilder would sell us to players as a place to be , without the need to spend millions
ADKINS JUST NEVER SHOWED THE URGENCY TO FILL THE GAPS

How much did Woolford cost, please? If you can't answer, your comments about 'money available' are redundant.

Are you suggesting he is that tactically, managementally naive that he doesn't know which players to bid for? Really?

Not one decent loan , no Codey type players have been utilised

Who did he bid for to bring in on loan, please?

I didn't quite hear Murphy making a public statement declaring he wanted out. Not after he'd signed a three year contract the season before, anyway.

players who were just short of being good enough by a couple of astute signings have regressed under Adkins

Who are these 'astute signings'? And furthermore, where is the evidence they were tearing up trees in their former roles at former clubs?

HAve Barnsley spent big
have bradford pushed the boat out

No. But they have had consistency. Anyway, I am more interested in Sheffield United.

ADKINS JUST NEVER SHOWED THE URGENCY TO FILL THE GAPS

I disagree. The board have not given him the wherewithal to augment the squad and Adkins cannot turn shit into platinum with players who simply aren't good enough.

not what Adkins says , money was on the table
“The crux of it is we wanted to bring a couple in,” the Sheffield United manager said. “The crux of it is that there was money put on the table.

he didnt have to turn shit as you put it into platinum
he had to turn 5th into 2nd 3rd or 4th
selling murphy did not make every player in a squad of 24 worse over night
that is utter bollocks

the funds were made available , he just didnt lure anyone in

Selling Murphy instantly denied us of a direct route to goal, and a threat at this level which required him being double-marked for many games.

If you are saying we haven't missed Murphy, I will point at last season's performances and this season's performances. Adkins has had to endlessly juggle the team formation to fill the gap left by Murphy. No one has played consistently out wide left since Murphy left. We now play an attacking midfielder as a wing back in a 3-5-2 to try to get penetration down that flank.

And as for Adkins comments - I'd like to see McCabe's hand removed from his arse, for once before I put any faith in the veracity of what he says.

you do know he played at Gillingham , how many assists did he provide, not many direct routes that day

and why then if as Adkins admits he had funds, did he not fill in the gap he left at all

didnt have to be same level but even 75 per cent as good would have been a start , even if the opposition only needed one to mark him

the funds were made available , he just didnt lure anyone in
why does noone want to come here. we always seem to be the last option
you can just hear the convo between the agents and players.. 'sorry mate.. scunny didn't come off.. you'll have to go to Sheffield United'

Joe Royle was at the Lane for the Walsall game. Phil Parkinson was at the Crewe game. I was at both.

Which would you prefer? :)
