Next up, which PSV shirt will someone photo shop our badge onto, why Macron are shit and why we love/hate Warnock.

Foxy, can't you have a randomiser that pops these threads up on a recurring basis to save people the effort :)

A randomizer crickey how many Michael Brown and Ched Evans threads would that throw up.

The tale of the missing Consonant Daz. (I've worked it out now)

Whichever way you look at it that Coat of Arms is tautologous. Sheaves of wheat and incase you didn't get it, a sheaf (sheath?) of arrows and for good measure we get 2 Gods of Thunder. Talk about hedging their bets.

Why don't they just go for crossed swords?

It's actually orange.....

It's actually "mango" according to Nike.
Nike said:
This season’s FA Cup will be played with the latest in football technology as Nike introduces into the competition the Incyte Ball – the brand's most technologically advanced football to-date.

The mango colored Nike Incyte Ball will be used in all FA Cup matches for the 2013-14 season. The exclusive colorway enhances visibility and incorporates graphics to generate maximum visual contrast in-flight helping athletes see the ball earlier, react faster and make split-second game changing decisions.

Clearly a female came up with that idea...

Just seen this on twitter, what do you reckon?
It's probably a load of BS but I'm personally not a big fan of it as I prefer the proper red and white stripes. Apparently it's white because it resembles the first kit we ever had.
And to be fair some of the kits we've had last few years have been very similar in my eyes so I reckon I could warm to it.

Love it. Would pay full price for it without waiting for it to go on sale like I usually do

Last I heard a couple months ago, United were trying hard to get the exact first kit we had, which is displayed in its pomp in the museum. One sticking point was the navy blue shorts.... thoughts?

I say if it's original lets go for it. We may get some stick from the pigs, but if it's original, it's what we do.

I'm too old by a country mile to wear a football shirt. However if you see an old gimmer in an original shirt, it's either Billy Fouke or me.

Threads merged :)

Not quite, the stripes on the prediction would be visible from the stands. Sadly the one kit we got has stripes so thin you can only see them if you're in touching distance of the person wearing them.

My Missus (who got to the pub for the game before me) wasnt sure we were even on TV.... as she states I didnt realised you played in white....

even on the close up shots it was hard to distinguish that the there was even was striped (apart from the ones on the shoulder (the adidas stripes)

I'm relaxed about us playing in that shirt away from home because you can just pretend it's an away kit.

Looks horrible at home, but then when we lose you can pretend you're watching a different team.

Looking forward to a return to our proper colours and design.

Can't wait. Truly awful ................ in my humble opinion of course

don't like it. team looks like Poland from the stand
i have a colleague over from Austria. he wanted to buy his lad a sheffield united shirt. he was sooo disappointed when he saw this seasons shirt. 'but that isn't a Sheffield United shirt, can i buy the old one instead'.. interesting eh? (true story)

Same here. Colleague over from Australia (bloody great when the Ashes were going in the right direction I can tell you), bit of a Premier League/Arsenal man. Took him to the first game and he was gobsmacked we weren't in R&W stripes and quite disappointed.

Kits don't bother me at all really, just like to see us in a nice striped shirt with black shorts and white socks, pretty much like my entire childhood. Can't lose this crap thing soon enough for me.

We've not had a good, "traditional" home kit for years though. I like this season's effort, it's certainly better than the crap we've put up with recently.

2014/15: 5/10 - not enough stripes, central adidas logo, awful sponsor logo, Blades badge too far over and too low down (looks like an afterthought)

2013/14 4/10: awful top section, misaligned macron logo and United badge
upload_2015-9-22_17-36-44.png

2013/14 7/10: decent stripes, good use of black but why are the badge and macron logos central?
upload_2015-9-22_17-38-14.png

2011/12 7/10: decent effort from macron (nb most of the pictures showing the Westfield Health logo were of a certain former striker so I've had to use the launch picture which predated the sponsorship deal]:
upload_2015-9-22_17-39-31.png

2010/11: 5/10 - whose idea was it to put the white bar across the middle?
upload_2015-9-22_17-41-18.png

2009/10: 5/10 - just not a great shirt.
upload_2015-9-22_17-42-24.png

2008/09: 4/10 - what the hell is that squiggly white line all about? And why are the stripes different widths?
upload_2015-9-22_17-44-44.png

2007/08 5/10: sponsor logo too high and random mesh elements while black doesn't really fit in. However, the red and white stripes, badge and Le Coq logos are all good
upload_2015-9-22_17-46-7.png

2006/07: 5/10 - a potentially good shirt ruined by placing the Blades badge and Le Coq logos too low and too wide while the Capital One logo is again too high
upload_2015-9-22_17-48-37.png

So in the last 10 years the best two kits we've had (aside from this year's) have been flawed. It seems that grasping that a Sheffield United shirt should be simple red and white stripes is beyond Le Coq Sportif, Macron and adidas so far.

Something like this. Perfect.

I can't wait for the Southampton style marketing of "the stripes are back!" next summer.

Personally, though I've not liked it as much as I thought I would initially, I'd be happy for something similar to become our regular away or 3rd kit.

On Wikipedia the little kit diagram shows just a white shirt with red shorts and no stripes. Always good to get it right on a supposedly authoritative website.
