Did we have a 120 year shirt? or 115?

The Sheffield coat of arms appeared on the shirt in the 1960's. According to this site
http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Sheffield_United/Sheffield_United.htm
1965-6 season.
Yeah we did, I'm not sure if it was ever worn in a match though?
or 100..errr...noooo would be the answer. All this yr 125 stuff kicked off with Arsenal a few years ago when they moved to Emirates stadium. Can someone explain why 125 years is a significant anniversary? I don't see the big deal. Did we have a 120 year shirt? or 115?
Meh

Next up, which PSV shirt will someone photo shop our badge onto, why Macron are shit and why we love/hate Warnock.
Foxy, can't you have a randomiser that pops these threads up on a recurring basis to save people the effort![]()
A note of caution, design Blade. Take a look at this Sunderland shirt made by Coq Sportif in the 80s. The width of stripe similar to your design but the frequency different. Looked pretty nice up close up;
sadly pretty horrible at the scale you would see it as a spectator.
I don't think your stripes are quite thick enough to be noticeable and I thought the idea that we played in 'chalk-stripes' all those years ago was mere speculation, did I read that somewhere?
For me the most appropriate commemoration would be to make a shirt that would be worth it for the fan. Why not some radically comfortable fabric, cotton anyone?
Sick and tired of clubs arsing about with colours - we all know the reasons for the changes, but can anyone explain the rationale behind the pink F.A.Cup ball. We play on a green pitch (mostly), with the crowds/stands giving a dark background - best colour?: white. If it snows, try yellow as it has been for the last fifty years.

As somebody else stated above. Don't bother reading them. Furthermore, don't bother re-reading them when you log back on.
There are clearly a lot of people interested in kits. Leave us alone.
Yeah I see what you mean. I wanted to go back to our first ever shirt which, according to Historical Kits was white but I still wanted to include stripes so I opted for the pinstripes. No question the shirt would look white from a distance, the intention was just to visualize a modern version.
next up, someone complaining about kit design threads. Almost as inevitable as the threads themselves. Believe it or not there are a few threads on here I haven't read as I didn't think they looked interesting.
yes we get it, the design of the kit doesn't interest you. If you're thinking of posting "as long as its red and white stripes i'm not bothered" then you might as well not bother as you're not original or funny, just annoying

Here's my thoughts as a graphic, personally I think a nod to the Sheffield coat of arms element is very important.
This is a simplified version for embroidery, more detail/shading for a printed versionView attachment 6948
There is one big flaw with your design.
The sheafs would not appear twice (heraldic stuff). They are shown within the shield held by the lion rampant and on the main badge. Perhaps replace the lion with the two scimitars?
I know the council bias is true. but the lights is becoz its modern, init. Everywhere has blue & white LEDs now.And I do hopen the council wouldn't be that mardy as to not allow us to use the Sheffield coat of arms. I know they favour Them (blue and white Christmas lights in town anyone?) but it would be a small concession.
