Just seen this post by a United fan (Class of 91) over on Porktalk on their thread about us. Is it just me that thinks he’s talking bollox. I quite like the Errea stuff, I’ve bought quite a few bits as leisure wear. I don’t buy the shirt though so maybe that’s what he’s talking about?

“Errea are absolutely diabolical. It's all on big piece of fabric cut into a shirt shape. Very nylon too. All the badges are wonky, or fall off. Or both!
We've had some shockers over the years. Avec, Patrick and Macron before they were decent.

“The Adidas stuff is very well made. Loads of different panels in different material etc. I know that sounds weird - "it's only a football shirt", but if you go out and buy a shirt for running in, or the gym, do you head to the Donnay/Slazenger, or the Nike/Adidas?
“The problem with Adidas was that they don't like striped backs and sleeves”

Errea is not good quality, the feel the look its the Primark of football gear.

Fancy it could be Nike… but I’m purely basing that on us now having American ownership and Nike would help with sales in the US. Then again that might not be the strategy at all as there may not be a market for it 🤷‍♂️

Looks like Nike do the Cleveland Cavaliers kits, so it’s possible Len Komoroski may have some contacts there.

Imagine it will be Errea for one more season. Kits are usually chosen around November/December time so be surprised if they change now. Should be some decent contacts with the new owners so would think a good kit deal will happen after end of next season

I'd be happy to go back to Adidas.

That said, despite the poor quality I do like the kit design by Errea - good stripe thickness, none of that blocked out red rear of the shirt (used to hate those kits back in the late 2000's) and black shorts. How a United kit should look.

Looking at the effort they put in to somebody's 120th anniversary shirt, I hope we steer well clear

No stripes on the back either 😢
Really cannot stand when they do that! Although I have fond, nostalgic memories of the desun kit (02/03) as it was my first full season (what a great season that was) it was bloody awful.

Sure it’s been insinuated one more year of errea as they actually have plans for early release this year! Probably not hanging about trying to find a sponsor for a change

May well have. The release dates have always been ultimately decided by the commercial department, but people who work there changed in the summer so may have different ideas and go earlier this year.

I’m sure Nike license the stuff out for clubs like us. Sunderland and Birmingham - I think they have Nike branded stuff but produced by another firm. mancunianblade can probably explain better.

I thought Bettis, or maybe Danny Hall, had said it would still be Errea next season.

Puma do some decent stuff, quality is pretty good, and seems to last.
They are up and down at best with stripes. My Italian team is Milan and we've had some recent horrors (on a diamond kit level...). That said, the 125 anniversary kit, and this year's home are excellent.

Didn't someone ask this at the last fans forum and Danny Hall commented that the response was along the lines of it will be Errea for another 12 months as there was not enough time to do another deal?

Hopefully the Errea deal will end sooner rather then later, overpriced tat, shocking quality and sizing. I have the home shirt, (I only got it as a tribute to George with "Baldock 2" on the back, the Large is more like a XXL whereas in previous seasons i understand the sizing has come up small..

having said all that the cream 3rd shirt is lovely.

Nike license is under the name Zelus they supply clubs quite high up the chain they do a Wolfsburg and a most international teams. Adidas, Nike and Puma all do this and only a very small no of clubs have direct contracts with the brands.
