Next season's home kit discussion...

What in the name of ARSE is the meaning of Kit's A and B? I'm mad with rage!!!

What's wrong with good old red and white stripes, black shorts and white socks... tsk etc.

Funny that Macron also supply Monaco, so we get one of their reject templates! Lazy kit suppliers.

I am fuming at the club for even considering this as an option, or Option A. We are one of Macron's biggest clients, surely we can define to Macron what we want from a kit and if we have, whichever pillock in the Marketing/Merchandise department made this decision wants sacking.

I accept that there are only so many variations on Red & White stripes, but a nice simple kit a la Tailored by Umbro would have been just fine. I vote C - best of a bad bunch.

Having seen the kits I now think it's hastened the disappointment rather than ruined the excitement. Not massively keen on any and the diagonal thing is a monstrosity.

EDIT: On 2nd glance, kit c is OK although I don't think the angle they've used has helped.

Pretty much my response (although I have to point out I never get excited about a new kit EVERY season). If I had a shotgun to my head it would be C but I won't be voting and "none of the above" will get my vote.

PS. If I were a supporter of another club and wanted a little mischief I know exactly which kit I'd vote for and I'd have a good few votes with every one of my e-mail addys!

Ah, the illusion of choice...

C and D are all but identical. And there's as much chance of people voting A or B as there is them buying a Wendy kit.

So Macron's flexibility goes as far as the sleeves being red or white. :)

Best kit supplier in the world apparently.....can you show a little more gratitude please JD.

It's nothing like the Monaco shirt.....

I quite like A.... at least its got a proper collar (although it will probably be a horrible floppy thing like last seasons!)

Options A & B are just....horrible. Whoever came up with those was either having a bit of a laugh or thought they were designing jockey uniforms.

Surely they're all going to change anyway - visit Malta will complain that the logo isn't contrasting enough.

Not overly keen on any, I've voted for C.

Probably going against the majority here but why can't we have a bit of black alongside the red and white stripes for a change. My all time favourite kit is on my avatar, after all as the song goes "we play in the red white and black....."

UTB

serious question here.... shorts and socks?

-if we are going to be wearing white shorts then Kit D is a definite no no for me, it would be far too white. but white with Kit C maybe.
-if the shorts are to be black, then either C or D may look OK.
-if the shorts are going to be blue and orange polka-dots I may want to abstain (OK, so I am being a little facetious here, but you get my point)

but how can this decision be reached without the knowledge of 2/3's of the 'kit'?

It pains me to align with the grumps but I thought C and D were a spot the difference puzzle. Maybe I'll win a prize? :)

Can't we have one like frechyblades Avatar? I'll always love that shirt

Last time we did away with stripes didn't we end up in Div 4?

Looks like we are stuck with Cacron again.............

Who the hell thought B was a good idea ?!?!?!?!?

I guess C is the most traditional but why the horizontal stripe half way down ?

D is closest to the last promotion kit :)

Cant see why we cant just have one with stripes all way round instead of these side panels, A hybrid of A,C/D basically A with a couple more stripes and without the alternate sleeve colours.

If I have to pick one of the above it will be C grudgingly.

They just don't get it do they. Four choices and not even close. It's not rocket science - the shirt that would be the most profitable and, i imagine, easier to make would be simple solid stripes all the way round and down the sleeves. No side panels, no solid coloured sleeves, just stripes. Someone posted this year's Chengdu kit on here recently, just iron on macron and Visit Malta and whala!

These options smack of someone who has already decided which shirt we're getting and just wants to do some testing on the sleeves. I've done this type of survey before. You just put int one crazy option, one unlikely option and then the variations of the one you want to use and let the people 'decide'.

Cynicism aside I agree it's good of the club to even ask us about this. It's just a shame the shirts have such a bad reputation otherwise I might buy one.

It's not hard at all is it? But you'd think it is.

The best there is D but as someone else posted, shorts are important to the overall look.

A and B are total non-starters. C & D are identical, aside from C is too red (we'd look like Stoke) and D is too white. Throw a bit of black into D and it's as close to perfect as we're ever going to be allowed to get, until they go back to keeping it simple.

Kit C is nicest, but neither are overly appealing. Kit B is too much like Ajax. Nobody choose that, besides, that's what Southampton did, and it doesn't look good for them.

If you would like to lodge a protest against the shirt changing, can I suggest that you:

a) do not vote in the poll but..

b) email [email protected] with your concerns. These will then be passed on with the results of the poll.

Thanks Linz,

I have done just that:

Hi Foxy/ Linz,

I have chosen not to vote for a new shirt and instead would like to lodge a complaint via BIFF about the constant changing of the kits.

1) Quality - There is absolutely no need to change a kit every season. The shirts should be able to last 2 seasons of wear at least. I wear my shirt every week for the gym and it gets washed every time, the kit is still as good as new.

2) Change of Sponsor - unless we are changing sponsors then the shirt should last 2 seasons, even then I would question the need to change the kit when a sponsor changes.
3) Style - the kits are so similar to recent years that we are running out of ideas.

I sincerely hope that the club starts to refocus beyond fleecing the loyal Blades fans for overpriced Kits and £1 Man of the match votes and gets back to looking at why the club is losing supporters.
