Sometimes I really, really wonder about the sanity of some SUFC decision makers

Our S6 bretheren have turned down an approach from a Pay-day loan company and guess what?.....................That's right, we think it's a great idea and have signed up the same company

A Pay-day loan company for F***s sake!

Yes it's true folks, SUFC thinks it's a good idea to promote 2000% APR* interest loans to their fans and the wider viewing public (* guesstimate, but you get the drift)

You stupid, stupid, stupid commercial people

I hope our replica shirt sales are zero

A usually tolerant but currently apoplectic Woodwaaard

Strangely appropriate given our financial situation don't you think? :)
Obviously not ideal, but it's a crowded market and we have to get money in however we can. Is it any less ethical than an online betting company?

and yet because of the way APR works,if you go over the limit on you bank overdraft and start getting ;referral' charges for bounced direct debits and a fee for being over the limit, the APR is actually higher than the pay day loan companies in many cases.....yet who would complain about being sponsored by a major bank ?

(not having a go at you btw).. but this is all part of the race to the bottom football and football fans are wholly engaged in:
Kids going around with adverts for Payday loan companies on their chest? Well it's not ideal but Blackpool and Hearts have done it.
Rapists playing for your club? Who'd turn down 20 goals a season, and just look at Lee Hughes/Marlon King turning out for whoever.

Wholly depressing, and all in the race for Premier League glory to get fleeced £40 to watch your team play at fucking Norwich.

Appropriate given the interest Mr McCabe charges SUFC.

Which company have the clowns gone for?

I liked your post but of course I didn't if you see what I mean.

I hope they aren't lending us owt!

:(

It's worse than that, we've signed "Earl" to play up front.

He is a bit quicker than Porter though.

I fucking despise their advertising

why why why, I thought Martin Ross co owner of a PR company sat on our board/director/whatever title it is this season.
If this is true it's bad PR after the pigs turning them down, what next?? It gets more Mickey Mouse by the week, we are quickly becoming a joke of a club

They have "Wonga" in Canada now, the strapline is something like "Britain's short term lender is here", what a great export, "legitimate" loan sharks (sadly Earl made it across the Atlantic as well).

If it's true, who really cares? The sole purpose of shirt sponsorship is to bring income into the club. I'm really not fussed whether people think "ooh, look at nasty Sheffield United with their immoral shirt sponsors. I don't want to be their friend."

If it brings in a bit of cash and helps keep the club running, fair enough. It's just an advert. Pay attention to it, or don't like with 90% of adverts on TV. It really isn't a major issue for me.

I don't care if it's Wonga or quick quid. Whatever keeps us floating. These companies take money from stupid people who take loans off them. Why shouldn't anyone take sponsorship money from them?

but those adverts on 90% of the time on tv are vile, not happy to see the blades sponsored by one of thse shitty companies at all

It is about right for us.

Although Id not be too worried buying a shirt from the club shop as usually the sponsors on our shirts drop off after a few washes.
I've never, ever had any football shirt where any of the sponsors have come off, no matter how many times they've been washed, and I've had lots of shirts, including most of the United ones for a fair number of years now.

Well I've had 2 shirts were the sponsors have come off, and some of have started to tear over time for me, like the macron icons on the sleeves have started to peel off in recent shirts.
So you keep your wear very good condition compared to me :p
