So you prefer Brewster?Only Hatton scored in the top division for any length of time
I agree that they were great for us but at the level we were at
That’s not the argumentSo you prefer Brewster?
Wow Edwards Hatton Morris or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie which fire power do you want it's simple, the trouble is it has to be the 80s that how far we've come and you know itThat’s not the argument
I know you are comparing a 4th Division team who were playing the likes of Hartlepool etc with a team that’s playing multi millionaire teams four divisions higher & you think the 4th division team would win.Wow Edwards Hatton Morris or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie which fire power do you want it's simple, the trouble is it has to be the 80s that how far we've come and you know it
Come on you know you want to say it one more chance.......Would you want Edwards,Hatton,Morris in their prime or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie do you think Edwards,Hatton,Morris would do more damage no matter what league they were in or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie just look at the goals scored come on its there for you right thereI know you are comparing a 4th Division team who were playing the likes of Hartlepool etc with a team that’s playing multi millionaire teams four divisions higher & you think the 4th division team would win.
No you don’t, when you look through the record books in ten years time for the lowest points total in a season etc this team will come up. The opposition should be better the higher up you are but so should you it’s all relevant. You have to put 'records' into context
A team that gets relegated out of the top division surely has to be better than one that gets relegated from the third division
So you're a glass half-empty kinda guy?I ve seen several posts on here that seem to think next season we ll be back in the mix for promotion or even automatic.
Not a hope in hell in my opinion.
First of all, the manager situation.
Its been 6 weeks now since Widers departure and we are still no closer to a definate replacement. If the powers that be are serious about our return to the so called best league in the world ,surely someone of substance would have been brought in by now. We dont even look close to signing anyone of note. Knowing our history it is going to be either Heckinbottom or Tindle. In which case God help us.
Now the squad.
High chance Berge will be gone , if not in the close season then definitely by January. Similarly with Egan, JOC and maybe Ramsdale and Baldock.
Leaving us with a nucleus of who exactly?
Billy, McGoldrick and Basham. All good solid pro's but ageing.
Jimmy (not John) Fleck. Norwood. Stevens. All of them half the players they were last season. Osborn, Busy player with potential in Championship
Bryan, Lowe, Bogle. Inconsistent at best
Rodwell and Robinson, medicore Championship level. Jags, excellent pro but ancient.
And an attack force of:
Mcburnie, hardly a prolifict goalscorer. Brewster, (did we really pay £23 million????) not a sniff of a goal in 24 appearnces. Burke. speed of a cheetah, football ability of a cheetah. Mousset (see Burke)
Lundstrum, well we all know his situation. The thing that worries me most is, who in their right mind will come in for him even on a free. Please dont let him stay.
I know we have bright prospects in some of our youngsters but knowing us of old they will not be given the opportunity of first team football with us but most likely be off loaded cheap.
Unless we get a manager who knows the championship well, and can motivate this depleted, lack of confidence bunch we currently have , then we are screwed. He will also need to be backed to bring in good quality players at this level. Our history does not bode well in this case.
I predict another long hard season in which we will finish bottom half. I hope I'm wrong and will be happy to be proved so.
Tin hat now on.
It’s how many points you finish with not how many after 33 games, we won’t beat the 75/76 total this season.Nope, we won only 2 games after 33 games in 1975-76. We have won 5 this season

Hatton was 33 when he joined us. Well past his prime. Morris was 28 when he joined us. Brewster is only 21, see how he does next seasonOK in there prime do you want Edwards,Hatton,Morris or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBurnie be honest
Obviously Edwards Hatton & Morris in their prime did more damage in the league they were in, thanks for giving me one more chance to say that!Come on you know you want to say it one more chance.......Would you want Edwards,Hatton,Morris in their prime or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie do you think Edwards,Hatton,Morris would do more damage no matter what league they were in or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie just look at the goals scored come on its there for you right there
It smells like.....We've no midfield engine so the propeller's stopped turning - time to find a paddle - lookout in the crow's nest reporting a creek up ahead which appears brown in colour !
I recall his og at the Lane playing for Mansfield Town in 1988 after he'd left us.Kenworthy was on his way to Norwich City Peters had sold him that season Everton,Nottingham Forest,Leeds United even Derby County when Mike Watterson owned them I know David Pleat rang him personally Luton Town.Kenworthy to his credit stayed, he loves S.U.F.C he loves Sheffield and Sheffield people. He told me personally that he's now a supporter and he's envious of the supporters been able to go to the Lane every other week (before covid)
League Cup replay. Our winner I think??I recall his og at the Lane playing for Mansfield Town in 1988 after he'd left us.

Only two points for a win though. The 1975-76 team played 42 games
Crikey yes. From memory.FA Cup replay
Of course it matters oh myIt doesn't matter who the opposition were the record books will say worse team in our history.
McBurnie and Brewster have prolific records in the championship and are another year closer to their prime. McBurnie for example has bulked up and become more aggressive.I ve seen several posts on here that seem to think next season we ll be back in the mix for promotion or even automatic.

You don't even know if those players would have hacked the level of fitness lifestyle pace of the game certainly at PL level. Would Vinny Jones have made it at PL level today -? it's all relativeWow Edwards Hatton Morris or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie which fire power do you want it's simple, the trouble is it has to be the 80s that how far we've come and you know it
I'll answer it. For next season, 2021/22 in The Championship, I'd rather take McGoldrick, Brewster and McBurnie.Wow Edwards Hatton Morris or McGoldrick,Brewster,McBernie which fire power do you want it's simple, the trouble is it has to be the 80s that how far we've come and you know it
Bogles performance against Brighton at the weekend was dogger.Him and Didzy should be the only untouchable players.
Everyone else is available at the right price
He's 20, recently had a concussion. I think it's fair to say he's in the positive side of the ledgerBogles performance against Brighton at the weekend was dogger.

Statistically Yes.
80/81 side gained more points, won more games, scored more goals, lost less games etc etc etc
