I'd love to see Sven-Göran Eriksson at the lane but now I'm just dreaming....he is looking for a job tho and has a great record with Lazio.

Why not he has a superb record at club level.

Not really. A reasonable level, but no more. The money he spent at Lazio makes Mourinho and Abramovich look positively tight by comparison.

some are asking for ranieri on unitedite why not great manager. warnock has to go now he's done al lhe can and ever will do,he's a fool

John Collins, done a good job with Hibs, young, ambitious, played the game the right way. Not sure we could get him though.

We're used to seeing a different team every week so it wouldn't be too much of a culture shock.

After our mighty one season in the prem, do you think we'll be considered a big enough club to get a really decent manager in?

You would think that if McCall got the job he'd get the team playing the right way, considering how he played the game. But you never know how much influence the coach has. Surely he must do what the manager tells him to do?

SM: "Boss, I'm gonna get the lads playing keep-ball for a few hours today. Get them used to keeping the ball. I think it'll be useful in a match situation."
NW: "Sod that Stu, get the midfield and forwards doing laps and have the defenders and Paddy kicking it as far as they can"
SM: "But..."
NW: "No point practising something we won't use in a match. Laps and kicking...sort it"

Maybe...

sounds just like summort warnock would do that.

OK, what about Mike Newel? Got an ordinary bunch of players playing good football, had his team sold from under him and suffered as a result but I'd be happy with that appointment.

Wayhey... get the sexist sod in :D

It'd liven up even the most boring of home matches from my seat just behind the dugout :D

I wouldn't. The man's a complete bell-end. He'd be slagging off our infrastructure in the press before we knew it, if it didn't suit him.

wasn't totally saying get him in, may be better around. Just thought i'd throw a name into the hat!

A change is needed.

Maybe so, it doesn't mean we pick any old numpty who is out of contract however.

Interesting that you'd love him to manage us and for us to get him in ASAP for no particular reason though! :)

No he hasn't. He's won a cup which Tony Mowbary got them into. He also hasn't won a game for them since that final which was a good 2 months ago. My best mate is a Hibee and he's not been impressed with him.

He plays 4-5-1 which of course is a favourite on this site :)

Get Tommy Burns in. He knows how to play great football and should definitely be given another chance in managment.

McCall: Warnock's last match
By Chris Stanton - Created on 14 May 2007

Stuart McCall believes Neil Warnock has taken charge of his final match for Sheffield United.

The Blades were relegated from Premiership on Sunday following a 2-1 home defeat to Wigan and much speculation surrounds the future of their long-serving boss.

Warnock has spent seven-and-a-half years at the Bramall Lane helm but talks over a new two-year contract have been protracted.

Warnock controversially turned down an offer from The Blades prior to his team's match against The Latics and United assistant McCall admits he would not be surprised to see his manager leave.

"Neil (Warnock) has a meeting with the chairman in the next 48 hours and then we'll see what happens at Sheffield United," McCall told Talksport.

"From a personal point of view, I thought that if we did get relegated then it would be Neil's last season at Sheffield because of what he has achieved.

"It wouldn't surprise me if that was the gaffer's last game in charge."

Macca thinks he is off then.

Says this morning NW wants to manage for two more years but he'd prefer it in the Premiership.

Despite backing any regime in charge of the club, it's starting to feel like Portsmouth all over again. For the stability of the club, we need to start to rebuild and to do that, we have to know who is going to be the boss next year.

Whatever happens, I would urge the board to act quickly but cautiously for the good of the team as we look to consolidate what we have and build for another promotion push.

If NW isn't fully committed to that, it's time to say thank you and goodbye. The aim of any manager is to leave the club in a better position than when you found it, and although we're in the same league, no one can argue that the club hasn't progressed in leaps and bounds.

Kevin McCabe on Radio Sheffield this morning said that they'd been looking at changing the management structure for a while and that any change in culture doesn't happen overnight but will happen.

I does seem that Warnock wants to be a Prem Manager no matter what and not Sheffield Uniteds Fan Manager.
He's thinking about himself, which I don't blame him for.
But he's not very subtle and has no sense of timing when he makes comments - like when stating he has turned down a contract offer, just before the biggest game of his career.
If he leaves I think we will see a very different style of football at BDTBL next season, if he stays I'm not 100% confident we will go straight back up.

If he's so bothered about managing in the Premiership, maybe he should have employed less defensive tactics when playing from home last season. Then perhaps he might have got to manage the team he loves in the Prem.

I'd be surprised, after this season's results, if any Prem club would want him. Anyone who does is more than welcome to him; it's time for a change at the Lane, I'm afraid. And it takes a lot for me to say that - I've been a massive advocate and fan of his since he took over, but I think it's really time he went now.

I wouldn't. The man's a complete bell-end. He'd be slagging off our infrastructure in the press before we knew it, if it didn't suit him.

He had a go at the Board that sold his best players, didn't give him the cash to invest and then complained at results. The football Lutopn played when he brought them in to the Championship is just what we need.

I hope no Warnock supporter would reject him for being too outspoken.

He embarrassed his club by speaking out of turn. Whether what he said was true or not, there is a right way and a wrong way of voicing your displeasure, and going to the press is not the right way. We don't need someone who's going to drag the name of club through the mud.

OK I stand corrected. I thought he'd done well, and would be respected enough to attract the right kind personel.

Tommy Burns is a great call.
