A point from either would be good without both our central midfielders.

Big ask though, it sounds like Sunderland got a point at Wolves by parking the bus, we won’t do that at Preston or Villa nor do I want us to, but it’s going to be a tough month, even Sunderland are typically picking up a bit of form just before we play them.

Need to hang in there until the JTW and hope for once we haven’t been misled.

Carruthers
for me he's been a dreadful signing so far. Mostly, down to attitude.
Any evidence of this? Or just a feeling?

We will lose both games at Preston and Villa without Fleck and Coutts.
Seriously? We can still put out a midfield with Duffy, Basham, Lundstram, Carruthers all good players.

Feels like we need to grind out an ugly backs to the wall 1-0 win at Preston
Disagree again, we need to play like we did against Bristol City and if we hit the post another 4 times we need to keep playing this way and hope our luck changes playing ugly will not change results.

What was that about melt downs?

samir needs to get his shit together right now or he can fuck off .. he has the ability
it’s up to you Samir most of us would die to wear that shirt
Some of us would die after about 5 minutes if we did get to 'wear that shirt' in a real game! :(

Obviously he has history, but everyone makes mistakes.

His body language on the pitch. It says 'look at me' and not 'look how hard I'm playing for these other 10 players'

Without Fleck and Coutts it's going to be tough. This is a big test for Wilder and the rest of the squad now.

I feel that it's asking a lot to play like we did against Bristol City without Fleck and I also think it wouldn't do any harm to get a clean sheet as we've not had one for a while, keep it tight, win and restore a bit of confidence. We did against Bolton away so I don't agree.

Have Preston suddenly become real madrid or something? I see no reason why we can't to their and get a result.

They have never been Real Madrid (except maybe in the 19th century), but for some unknown reason during the last 60 years with 2 exceptions we have struggled to win there.

I said we will would lose both Millwall and Bristol, but then we would return to form for the Preston and Villa games and win both, that was before the Fleck sending off, but I'm sticking with my prediction and we will go out and win both games.

Have a like.

Erm, how good are your predictions normally JG?

These next 2 games are going to extremely tough with Fleck out and in all honesty will probably see us drop out of the play offs.

I just hope we don't have a huge meltdown and keep our heads. We're on a run where nothing is going right and I just hope we are patient with them because this team and management have deserved it. Their confidence will have taken a hit but we are good enough to go on a run and get that back. Whatever happens we won't be far off in January and with a few much needed additions we will come back and give it a real shot I'm sure.
It's not a fans meltdown that worries me, it's the impact that slipping away from "pressing the top two" to "outside the playoffs" might have on the board's thoughts on January additions. Might they move the target from "we've got a reyt chance so lets take a bit of a gamble" (obviously not a pigesque type gamble :D) to "let's back to consolidate and improve slightly to build for a future crack at promotion"?

Carruthers obviously has some talent, but seems to lack the vision needed for a good midfield player. He only scans to his right, and a few times has not seen the opportunities available to his left when the opposition has been really open to a counter attack on that side.

He needs game time like every other player but against Brizzle Donaldson was a bit miffed with him after he’d set of a a run and it just needed a simple through ball and we could have been down on goal, instead Carruthers kept his head down, cut inside and lost the ball.
He’s got potential but in this league awareness is essential.

Two very different types of games, Preston are aggressive, physical and it will be a battle, you have to stand up to them and give as good as you get. Villa more about possession and building from the back, more technical players

had to check and you did call it, now if we can just get the rest of your prediction right.

Samir Carruthers - he's clearly got the ability (let's not forget that long run to goal against bolton last season, was nearly the best goal I've ever seen at the Lane!) but needs to bloody track back and do more with the ball. I thought he looked technically better than anyone we had when we first signed him but he needs to realise that now is his opportunity to fulfil his potential. He's not far off 25 and if he doesn't do it before the Jan transfer window I can see him being shipped out.
