They are currently 13 points clear of forest and if both Newcastle and forest win saturday then Newcastle will have to beat Sheffield United live o sky to get Promoted. I fear a hammering coming on.........

Yeh they said this on sky a couple of weeks ago. For some reason I don't think United will get hammered, although a cricket score isnt entirely out of the question. One thing is sure though, we WILL be beaten and it won't be particularly close, 2-0 or 3-0 maybe but I don't think we will get trounced. Newcastle will have a few nerves despite their lead over third.

I can't see the Blades getting more than a point from these next two games. If they get 3 I will be impressed.

If we did get a public hammering I suppose it might hasten Blackwell's departure.

However, it will be just like the Blades to go and win this one.

Why would it? In my 25 odd years of watching United, I cannot recall them winning many away games against the best side in whatever division we've been in.

You need talent, hunger, desire, pace, athleticism and organisation to have any chance - at the moment we have nothing.

I've been preparing for a pasting in this fixture for a while.

A back four of three loanees and poor old Andy Taylor isn't exactly going to thrive. We could (and probably will) play 5 across midfield, but Newcastle play ugly these days and will just exploit their height up front. That sub-human lump Andy Carroll will probably get a hattrick.

Portsmouth 02/03 if memory serves me proper. Expected a caking and won 2-1.

Also remember an early season win at West Brom (Ashley Ward scored so I might have been dreaming), when they were expected winners of the league.

I actually think we fare quite well when we are the underdog. Its when we are expected to win (like last Sunday) when we make a badgers arse of it.

Remember when the pigs got hammered 8-0 up there?

I fear a day half as bad as that one.

NUFC 4 - 0 SUFC

OK, it was a flippant comment from me, but my memory of Bladeswatching goes back over 60 years and I can recall many occasions when I expected the worst, only for the team to surprise us with a win.

If Newcastle beat Peterborough on Saturday and Forest manage no better than a draw against Bristol City, then Newcastle will be assured of promotion. They might take their foot off the gas on Monday. They might blood a few youngsters, or we might get a few dodgy refereeing decisions in our favour, or their keeper might do something daft and get sent off in the first minute....

(...I'm running out of straws to clutch)

Well unless Blackie goes today, then I doubt we'll remove him before the dingles and if thats the case we certainly won't get rid before Monday...

This thought has depressed me

Sad to say it we have been ripe for a pasting for a few months now, and i think that Newcastle away on Easter Monday is ripe for it.

Patched up back four, side low on confidence, just been beaten at home against Scunthorpe. I reckon another turgid match at home to Barnsley and then the thumping.

I think we will get hammered 5 or 6-0. Sad to say it, but it has been coming a while

Because everyone is of the opinion we will get beat, and even a beating to go with it, will anyone avoid watching skysports monday evening?

Or a 1-nil away win

Stranger things have happened at sea.

i hope Forest win on Saturday so that Newcastle need to beat us to go up. That way the nerves will set in and despite how poor we are/think we are, we're still a difficult team to break down. I can't see an hammering at all!

How about lots of snow up there, match off and they can't get fixture in between now and may 2nd. Newcastle go up on there next game so give us a point a piece?

"I can't see an hammering at all!"
I,ve kept that for Tuesday morning and will gladly say you were right if that is the case.

bring it on. It makes absolutely no difference to me if we win 5-0 or lose 5-0. In fact I think that i'd sooner see us get tonked.

Seeing a high profile game on TV might get McCabe's thinking.

(here comes the onslaught about me not being a proper Blade, but save it. 'I've been a blade since 1955 and i've never wanted em to lose etc'. I'd happily lose every game between now and the end of the season - including Wednesday - if it meant that we got rid of KB)

If you don't crack a smile when we stick the fifth past Harper at the Geordie promotion party then I wouldn't say you're not a Blade... You'd just be mentally ill.

:)

1-0 win, Nyron Nozza from a corner, then gives the geordies the shhhhhhhhhhhhh celebration.

In reality, 2 or 3 nil to the fat idiot geordie lumps
