This is a quick video looking at the qualities of our new signing, the details of the transfer as well as how he might fit into Slavisa Jokanovic's system.

There's also an update on further deals both in and out.

As ever, feedback welcome and please subscribe to the channel, it's free and run by two Blades for Blades.

Interesting video YorkBlade i heard you say at the start there will be other incomings.. followed by Vieira fitness questionable, Diallo unlikely and Celi almost certainly not.

So now I'm scratching my head lol 😂

Seems like writing on the wall about Rammers going sadly but it is what it is. We move on

Also recommend everyone watch it. Probably the most informative (without leaking anything) information we've got from around the club in a long time.

I would pick up on what Hal mentioned about playing 3-5-2 and it being very successful over the duration of the first PL season under Wilder. We finished 9th and the team was greater than the sum of its parts. Even Moose contributed, and McBurnie popped up everywhere, in attack and defense.
The team played at a high tempo and pressed high up when out of possession.

In hindsight, those players played out of their skins and put a high tempo at the forefront of our game. It was obviously too much to ask them to carry that high energy game into the following season.

Can’t help feeling that a number of then believed their own hype, and tried to get away without playing every second of last season at 100%, by lifting of the gas a bit and coasting. That’s where the majority of that side are now, under a new manager.
Well spotted Hal.

In the Know but can't tell. You're the worst, Hal 😂😂😂
Just joking mate, another snappy video packaging everything up nicely.

Clearly Rammers is in a difficult position. Him moving has become a possibility with genuine bids coming in. He'll also see his SUFC wages possibly dropped from the prior season and he'll be aware of how much his wages would be if he moved at Arsenal.

At a poorly informed guess I'd imagine the circumstances could be like this:
Signs for SUFC on 25-30k per week.
Relegated and drops to 15-20k per week.
Arsenal start talking about him being offered 60-70k per week if not more.

He seems a great lad and as a keeper he can have a longer career than most, but that could be potentially a serious wage disparity right there.

Sticks where he is and gets 1m per year for next 4 years potentially, total 4m. Moves and gets 5% signing on fees - 1.25m already and then 3m per year, total 13.25m.

He's probably now at the stage, call it head being turned, where he'd quite like to be in the 13.25m camp and as a keeper knows this won't come up as readily as an outfield player given there is only one keeper slot.

His preference is probably amicable agreement and then sign the life changing contract. But he also can't expect the club to take peanuts or more or less a straight refund on him just to make it happen. Arsenal need to do their bit.

I can see his agent pushing for a compromise heavily and him leaving by end Aug.

He's also got to hope Arsenal pick up a bit because if Arteta gets sacked then all bets could be off, though it appears to be Edu running point on the recruitment.

That's my I'll informed guesswork anyway!

I think provided Arsenal pay what we are asking then I would let Ramsdale leave. As mentioned we should be able to get a solid keeper in on loan or give Verrips a chance up till Jan to prove his quality. Then using some of the funds to help Slav get the extra creativity we desperately need.

Over to Arsenal to see if they come back in for him.

Given that both Neto and Woodman both were needed by Barça and Newcastle respectively in their starting XIs, their plan B isn't looking too hot!

Completely agree with Nick. Ben Davies = a signing to complete an overlapping back 3 and create overloads again perfect choice. The strange thing is we don't play this system anymore.

Does Bash now just become our last season Jagielka back up? I'm not sure he deserves to be just a bit part. We’ll have to retrain him as a right wing back again 😂

we wont be playing overlapping centre backs and in any case im sure slav prefers a back 4 with egan and davies as his centre back pairing so yes think basham may well be eased out after this season

Not too daft about Basham, would anyone consider him as a starting right full back if Baldock is sold?

Vieira is probably going to happen and then it will be a case of an attacking player coming in (most likely on loan). If Rammers does go then I'd expect us to get a keeper, I know Freedie Woodman has been mentioned and he's one the club like but he's involved in the Newcastle first team now and even he has been linked with Arsenal so that seems unlikely. If Rammers does leave I'd actually expect us to shop in somewhere like Turkey for a replacement.

So going back in for Cakir again haha

If he wants a back 4 then he's arguably sorted.

He has Baldock(Bogle), Egan(Basham), Davies(Robinson) and RND(Stevens) plus of course he can play Robinson LB too. He doesn't really need any more defenders. Move on Lowe loan or perm.

He can then focus on strengthening midfield so it's maybe Vieira, Garner, Berge (Norwood, Fleck, Osborn). I do think the midfield needs a refresh, how hungry are Fleck and Norwood now they have their PL memories and might be squad fillers when they get there again?

If he somehow gets Diallo then he might settle for one winger Diallo(Burke) plus two forwards including those that have attributes to play wide a bit i.e. McBurnie/McGoldrick possibly even Brewster plus Sharp.

I'd imagine that's what he wants to end up with by Aug.

As fun as the overlapping centre backs has been, it is hard to recruit for, plus are your defenders the best people to be charged with chance creation? Certainly without Duffy the team became much more functional and reliant on creation from wide rather than centrally and he probably thinks a proper winger (or two) is a far better outlet than giving primary chance creation to someone like Baldock.

good point made with that last paragraph slav will want more creativity from midfielders in his system not relying on defenders to do it
