New TV Screen

I dont see how it is patronising. They are just stating we are getting a new screen...thats it.

Mattbianco was right but must've made the connection subconsciously, I mean: "a big screen at Bramall Lane which can be seen by around 20,000 fans within the stadium every matchday."

Really? Did we really need that line? The only thing worse would've been to compare it with Wednesday attendances, pick the largest one, round it down to the nearest thousand and then say 'in excess of...'

Is the sale of brooks paying for the new "burn your eyes out" advertising board then?

Don't diss the desso
Yes, he's off to Everton. Whiteman is going to Southampton so we can upgrade the computer that can only do adverts to one that shows the highlights at half time. You heard it here first.

Can't be right that, not without losing some seats.

Should put it on the roof of the Lane end like they originally intended to, with a matching one on the roof of the new Kop When it's built.

Like White Hart Lane was, it would look fantastic.
Thats where it came from !! ..........

Kev, always up for a bargain
That will be our cut of the Kyle sell on clause ;)

The reason we're getting a nice big fancy new screen is so we can all read the questions at half time.

Thanks for the link to The Stir. I'd quite forgotten what a shite rag it is. Apparently, Stone & Taps bar has closed on Glossop Street and - just to prove The Stir has it's finger on the pulse of world events,
Basegreen Avenue residents have complained about the mess left by council contractor AMEY after they cut the grass verges.

Yeah, yeah it's shit etc etc. Isn't this what local news is though? Look North does the same thing but on TV. You can only work with what you have and if this is what they fill pages with perhaps this is an issue to people locally. If you think it's bad in Sheffield you should read some of the shite local news elsewhere. Places like Hull and Huddersfield are real grief fests.

Think it's easy to point and poke with sticks but try filling pages with genuine local news (which is their job) and you end up with crap like this. Not exactly their fault is it?

Regards Shields I think he has grown into the role. He has because a credible source and I like what he writes generally. I occasionally listen into the Blades podcast which was decent last season. All in all I don't go with all the biased bollocks. It's just some people can't wait to chuck rocks and say everything is shit.

Already? It's only been open 5 minutes!

6 months, apparently. It's predecessor - The Swim Inn - was a Wetherspoons and catered for the 'wino' end of the market. People stood outside drinking and smoking at 9.00 am. It's too far off the 'main strip' of West Street.

....... Are we using it for HD replays or is it merely just an advertising board?
I emailed and complained about the screen not showing replays on two occasions without reply. We haven't had replays for over a season nothing but poor advertising and 'quaint' messages. Think they got it spot on TBH;)

Find it amusing how both sets of supporters are convinced of media bias. This is true of every city.
It's not something I've ever picked up on in Manc to be honest. Nor is there any issue at all when Man City have red in their away kit and Man Utd have blue. I love Sheffield to bits but it's the most small minded city I know by an absolute mile.
