Still David Jason, so hopefully the board can thrash out a deal, heavily in favour of the TV company and we should see the repo men come in around Jan, unless we can off load a couple of players that had there heads turned and we were simply unable to keep them....o_O

Yeah, yeah it's shit etc etc. Isn't this what local news is though? Look North does the same thing but on TV. You can only work with what you have and if this is what they fill pages with perhaps this is an issue to people locally. If you think it's bad in Sheffield you should read some of the shite local news elsewhere. Places like Hull and Huddersfield are real grief fests.

Think it's easy to point and poke with sticks but try filling pages with genuine local news (which is their job) and you end up with crap like this. Not exactly their fault is it?

Regards Shields I think he has grown into the role. He has because a credible source and I like what he writes generally. I occasionally listen into the Blades podcast which was decent last season. All in all I don't go with all the biased bollocks. It's just some people can't wait to chuck rocks and say everything is shit.

The Hull one is usually about how most of the place is going to fall into the Sea at some point. Buy a house up Mappleton way and you might as well put the money on red or black instead. Every time I drive through there's a bit more missing.

The current one is shite. It's running on Windows 95 or sumat.

The new one will be a proper High Definition display. It will be like watching your HD TV at home.

Would randomly freeze, and there would be some squares of the display completely out of action. It's one of those things that when we nabbed it off Darlington it was relatively state of the art for the era, and had the option of doing goal replays and general season highlights that were a welcome addition. But as time has gone on, it's become more dated, less reliable, and generally looks a bit shit – it would have been preferable to remove it altogether rather than retain it as was.

Try Carlisle. I cant remember the name of the paper but I once wasted a good half hour laughing at the stories.

The greatest paper ever is/ was 'look local' north Sheffield. They once had a section about UFO's and printed a letter complete with name and address from a man who said he was out badger baiting and had seen a UFO. A week later they had to print an apology as his house had been vandalised by activists as they had misprinted it and put badger baiting instead of badger watching. This is one of a long line of fantastical stories and cock ups but I have a particular fondness for the letters section where family feuds are laid in print un-checked and escalated on a weekly basis.

Probably a good job he wasn't a paediatrician.

Find it amusing how both sets of supporters are convinced of media bias. This is true of every city.

Did any team in the other cities have a 'save our owls' type of media campaign for one club in trouble and yet ignore the plight of the other when they slid into Div 4?

Fact not opinion

This more than anything sticks in the craw of many older supporters. I remember the Stars "defence" when it came up in the season we eventually went down in. It was "well It didn't work did it" .

How ridiculous. Do you seriously believe that there are the same biased big-wigs and journos at The Star about 42 years later?

This is from PorkTalk...

Allegedly the 'Save Our Owls' campaign is why many bitter and twisted Unitedites don't buy the Star anymore

I agreed with Seanshorehams factual post. Never referenced current day events, nor did I say I didn't buy the Star because of SOO. (I stopped buying it because it's shit). Neither did I say the same people were in charge, so pretty much all of your post is laughable.

Maybe try and deal with what's posted rather than what you want to try to feel superior about.

Yeah, Im almost sure its the police room, im sure someone with a bit more nous than me can confirm. We were a 24/7 business looking for office space so had a meeting there
"Can we use it 24/7?"
"Yes"
"ok, thats brilliant, even on weekends, christmas period etc?"
"Yes, just not while there is a match on"
"oh.... you could hve mentioned that, when we sent you an email, asking for 24/7 office space"
"Sorry"

Useful meeting :D

Why on earth can't it be used when there's a match on?
