We should have seen progress on this by now. The players are right to speak out, as was the former manager.

If the plans are in place and this is right and we are waiting on the council, the players should stick to what they know about and not drag the club through the mud.We should have seen progress on this by now. The players are right to speak out, as was the former manager.
You forget in your criticism that he really isn't a PL level midfielder, and by and large our players weren't on PL level wages either - As shown by our wage totals compared to the other teams.Norwood pocketed a fine salary last season for being slightly better than wank. Generally speaking, for large chunks of last season, he could barely do the basics of a PL level midfielder. Specifically, his overall set piece delivery was poor, his ability to beat the first man at corners was woeful. I seriously doubt the facilities at Shirecliffe had any affect on this.
Not making it all up just that we listened to our owner saying covid delayed it which is fair. If nothing in next 12 months about is worrying I must admitAccording to some, Wilder was making it all up about being frustrated about the lack of improvements with the facilities when he left.
If players are starting to speak out about it now too, that's not good.
Also like Wilder players at many other clubs are used to better facilities, makes an easier sell of the club if you've got better to show.

He played the best part of 40 games the previous season and was more than competent at that level. Last season for whatever reason he wasn't. He's also played the best part of 60 times for NI, so the lad isn't park pitch standard. You forget in your criticism that he really isn't a PL level midfielder, and by and large our players weren't on PL level wages either - As shown by our wage totals compared to the other teams.
This thread is a brilliant illustration of how quickly a lot of fans have gone from loving this team and Wilder to totally forgetting everything that's been achieved and to seemingly hating them and blindly siding with the Prince over everything. Not surprised I suppose but it's quite sad.
The PR job that the Prince has done has been quite incredible - can you imagine after the Palace away game in 2020 if someone had told you that less than 18 months later there would be a significant number of people who would be rabid in their hatred of Wilder and the team and would believe everything the Prince said without question?
In my opinion, the training facilities are an utter disgrace and represent the biggest missed opportunity for the club in recent times.

Couldn't agree more with this. It's embarrassing. This thread is a brilliant illustration of how quickly a lot of fans have gone from loving this team and Wilder to totally forgetting everything that's been achieved and to seemingly hating them and blindly siding with the Prince over everything. Reported in the main stream media weeks ago, shortage of building materials, and countless big companies (house builders) were warning of laying people off,, in our case we are no where near ordering or waiting on materials, those things actually come with estimated delivery dates, we are waiting for planning permission and the city council to get its arse in gear re land they 'acquired' adjacent to the site (presumably the ex health authority buildings/land) from the Government, that's now in their ownership and would have to be sold.Must be down to getting sand and cement delivered for building work not starting, yeah that'll be it.
Thanks JimReported in the main stream media weeks ago, shortage of building materials, and countless big companies (house builders) were warning of laying people off,, in our case we are no where near ordering or waiting on materials, those things actually come with estimated delivery dates, we are waiting for planning permission and the city council to get its arse in gear re land they 'acquired' adjacent to the site (presumably the ex health authority buildings/land) from the Government, that's now in their ownership and would have to be sold.
We shouldn't be worried though, quite recently due to changes within the City council, they are far more proactive regarding allowing planning permission,, just last week they approved the plans for a Castle to be built in the city centre, and they were only submitted in 1175.Thanks Jim
Arguably the worst player at the club last season
I think plans were shelved for that particular development.![]()
Impressive new addition at Shirecliffe
United's players are set to kick-off 2021 with a sparkling, state-of-the-art first team training centre. The board of directors has given the green light for the project, despite the current economic challenges facing the football industry. The two-storey building, which will be comprised of a gym,www.sufc.co.uk
This should be in place by now construction industry hasn't stopped since then really.
Interesting it says in this article too that it's built off site to minimise disruption and speed up the process.
I'm gonna say I reckon it's not yet started to be built and no foundations are down either.
Perhaps Ollie shouldn't mention anything and just get on with it, but could be that if they've been promised and asked about it for past 18months and still no sign of anything, maybe mentioning it to the media puts the light back on it.
It certainly suggests that there was something in Wilder's complaints regards training facilities too.
Were they? When? I know the club are looking at relocating the academy potentially to Norton. But still thought this was in the plan?I think plans were shelved for that particular development.
You haven't read the Mousset threads or the the Ramsdale threads or the McBurnie threads or the Brewster threads have you?
Various 'big Blades' who have done a bit more than your one single post, have been making strong cases for other players.
You are clearly going to have to up your ante, if you want to get into serious Norwood slagging territory.
Planning permission was granted by the council in Nov 2020, the only people dragging their heels are SUFC.We shouldn't be worried though, quite recently due to changes within the City council, they are far more proactive regarding allowing planning permission,, just last week they approved the plans for a Castle to be built in the city centre, and they were only submitted in 1175.
To be fair. David will know about the condition of the site. When was the last time that you toured the facilities & it what way are they a disgrace? Which ones have you been to that are better & in which way?
Her. She's.The new Council leader seems to be making rash decisions left, right and centre. Possibly before the committee model that the city voted for kicks in, and reduces his power. So in terms of the decision at Norton, it could land either way depending on if he's a Blade or a Pig.
Norwood- 'I think we deserve rewarding for where we've put the club...'
Signed him upon being promoted to the Championship and we are now where Ollie?
