A few things here.

1. That does look great! - did you do the image Ron_Justice ? If so, is it difficult to do? - see 2.

2. To link in this picture here, it reminded me of this. I always thought the BL would have been better if just carried on building down from the current BLUT front row (much like this picture. It would be great views, and end up close to the pitch. I could draw it, but as you'll see, my sketches don't give any kind of real view.

Can you do the same to see if it would look good? If not too much trouble. (or let me know how and I'll try it)

3. My answer to all this I already wrote, would be minimal disruption, and be a Spurs type Kop, which could be built to any size. see bad drawing, but roughly what would look like. The lower area would have good facilities and the midpoint above is just struts and concrete ...

I made the image yeah - PhotoShop. Basically take the photo of what you want, select the section you want to repeat, copy-paste that section into the area you want it. Use the eraser tool to clean up the edges. Basically....

I'll have a play with the BL stadium and see if I can mock up your vision

Someone earlier mentioned another possibility, digging the pitch up and lowering the ground to fill in the gaps - could solve a lot of the spacing issues at the lane. could also vastly increase the capacity, so the option is always there.

I'd think that digging the ground out by 10 feet would be possibly cheaper than demolished and rebuild JS

Would the drainage still work or would we be creating an outdoor swimming pool.

You can see here, if we're ever to want to really expand to upwards of 50,000 seat, this would be the only realistic option. John Street and Bramall Lane just don't offer enough real estate to significantly increase the capacity (on the issue of digging down, there's no room in front of the Kop & Bramall Lane, only John Street and South)

Anyway, what I found interesting about the image below was the genuinely impressive amount of real estate the ground is built on. Unlike many Inner City grounds, we have loads of breathing room, we just don't use it very well right now, thanks to where the South Stand was built...

In this image, the center spot is basically where the players come out of the South Stand,. so we'd only need to buy half a Desso

I'd never seen that picture before, and never more seen how much land is wasted, due to decision made over time. But the way the space is used, is what I mentioned too.

Yes of course I know.

But I'm probably talking more ideally than reality. You have to admit though that removing BLLT and rebuilding with facilities in the space below wouldn't be like a total rebuild. When I said not an expensive job, I should have been clearer... it would be much better, and not cost anything like a total rebuild.

McCabe wanted the World Cup at the Lane and these plans were the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to achieve that goal. It wouldn’t surprise me if the club/McCabe haven’t looked at other options as they already have these plans, so why bother?

Find it impossible to believe that an architect just comes up with one design, it’s not their choice/ decision regards how the stadium is improved.
There are loads of options and alternatives with different advantages/ disadvantages. The owner will have made the choice regards the best value approach.

If I owned the club then I’d want a general idea about the costings and return on investment on all the options.
0nce you choose the best option, then the architect go into a more detailed planning stage design. This is what I suspect will have happened.

Much as i love the idea of completely flattening BDTBL and starting again with the pitch rotated hasn't the new Spurs ground cost nearly a billion quid? Even allowing for the fact they've gone ultra luxurious with the facilities etc surely we'd be looking at a minimum £500mill even with a lower spec.

On top of that there's the small matter of where we'd play whilst this was going on. The only place we could move and not have to tell quite a few thousand ST holders that they won't be able to come for a couple of years would be The Sty.
