from the reuters website:
Carlsberg and Dulux locked in a battle to win sponsorship rights to English football club Sheffield United.
According to Carlsberg spokesperson Ivor Smallcock, the popular purveyor of cheap alcoholic beverages have offered £2m to sponsor The Blades. "We see this as being the perfect way to extend our well established marketing campaign. If successful, we would use the slogan "If Carlsberg did football clubs, it wouldn't be this shower of shite"
Dulux have made a last-ditch attempt to hijack the deal, Marketing Director Mike Huntsitchee is quoted as saying "We at Dulux have a long history of researching the mechanics of the paint drying process. We see this as a unique chance to engage large numbers of people to view our new range of quick drying gloss. By trialling our new paint on the players shirts, the fans of this historic club can finally put their experience to good use."
