"You know, it's a very beautiful shirt, very beautiful. It's a design classic. Very beautiful. And I said to Steven, I call him Steven, we've known each other for a long time, very long time. We go a long way back together. I said to Steven, I said 'Steven, when you change strip at the end of the season..' I said 'when you change the strip at the end of the season, you must keep the stripes on the back. Ok?' I said 'You must keep the stripes on the back, you can't go for one of these plain red backs, that just looks like the China shirt from behind. You must keep the stripes front and back. It's a very beautiful shirt' And stripes on the arm, I told him. Stripes on the arm. I'm very much a stripes on the arm kind of guy. Stripes down the arm and the back. And no black pinstripes. No black pinstripes. I don't know why they put the black pinstripes in, you know? I don't know why. It's not traditional. Red and white stripes, with one of those 1974 flappy collars with the filled in V neck. Very beautiful that. That would look very beautiful and very classy. I told him 'Steven, make sure you put stripes on the back' and he leaned in to me and said 'Mr President, don't you worry. I've got this. We'll have stripes front and back, with black shorts and white socks'. He's a good guy. One of the good ones. I like Steven. I like him a lot and he likes me. Good guy you know. He'll see the club right and I can tell you this, it will be the best kit the club has ever had. Believe me. It will be the best kit in the whole Premier League. It really will. It will be so good, we'll have orders coming in from all over the world. From all over the world. Everyone will want to be seen wearing it. They really will. Best kit in the world. No other team, I guarantee. No other team anywhere will have a kit to match it, they really won't. It won't even be close, let me tell you that, it won't even be close..."

You can't fool me. That's that fucking waiter mattbianco1

I have to admit that a brief press conference would have been nice, but I also can't sat I am that fussed.

As long as Wilder and Bettis are supported in doing their jobs, then I am happy if we never hear from them.

They'd be daft to pop up before we've done our transfer business making grand promises and getting in the face of the other clubs and media. The consequences could only be negative.Longer term some kind of vision of what they'd like to do would be nice. Under promising and over delivering hopefully. I'm most interested in their approach to the ground, academy and scouting network than how much they are willing to spend on the first team tbh.

What do people want here, and what can they do with it when they’ve got it, ffs?
Exactly, I don't think we're going to be seeing a grand plan from the new owners yet anyway. They have a lot of work to be doing now that they are in the building, so to speak.

It would be nice to see them present a bit of a vision in the summer for the club overall in the next 5 years to cover a lot of the aspects for each area of the club, which others have covered in the COH Investment thread - First team, Academy, Womens, Hotel and other assets, facilities such as Shirecliffe, HSBC, Crookes, Bramall Lane, Hotel...

Is it the right time now for them to do this? No i don't think so, i'd rather not hear too much publicly until the summer, the football and onfield activities have to take priority now, they can chat and give crazy quotes in the summer

I'd have preferred them to be on a short grainy video clip on a night out in Wildcard singing 'Shoreham Boys' whilst stood on a table and really putting emphasis on "shag your wimin" to really understand their level of commitment, but a presser would also have been nice...

I think a short statement to say just as you say that Wilder and Bettis roles remain unchanged would be good, perhaps we'll get this if Wilder is given a new contract.

A Delaware registered company as previously pointed out. Good luck sleuthing that.

SUFC have just posted a preview from a soon to be released "welcome from our new owners". Here is a behind the scenes look at filming which took part last Friday at Shirecliffe.

If you’d not said it was the owners l’d have plumped for Hal and Jimmy.

It doesn't really matter who they are as they are here and they are here for the foreseeable future. Some people seem to enjoy tearing their hair out ( if they have any left) agonising over many "what can go wrong scenarios "

The proof is in the pudding. Although they've only been here a month they must know they might not get a better chance to get promoted than they have now. It's 2 from 3 and CW/AK have performed a miracle keeping us up there tjrough our injury crisis. The next 3 weeks will give us all the info we need on their financial wherewithal and intent.

Surely the proof is in the eating?

Yusuf Giansiracusa has an hout long press conference. Some people complain.

The Prince goes on a fan-led podcast. Twice. Some people complain.

The Prince goes on Radio Sheffield. Some people complain.

The new owners put out a clearly worded, well intentioned statement, then don’t say anything. Some people complain.

It’s almost like some people want to fucking complain no matter what.

Could be but see below

The proof is in the pudding" is an English idiom that means the quality of something can only be judged after it has been tried or tested It's based on the idea that the best way to test a pudding is to eat it.

My mum used to say it a lot

The original proverb is "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." You don't know how good it is until you taste it.

Typical replies… very short sighted Sheffield folk, same people that will be moaning if we don’t do exactly what they want in the transfer window and will have their pitch folks out saying weerz new owners…

It would be nice to understand what’s the short medium long term plans/strategy is for the club, regarding infrastructure, the stadium and the academy. I’m sure there will be some interviews and comms soon, just thought we may get it this week, but more likely when the transfer window is closed as to not to show the clubs hand in terms of finance for transfers.

What replies did you expect. The majority of people totally understand there is no need to come out and tell the whole footballing world what our transfer strategy is or how much money we are going to spend in the JTW

It would be nice to understand what’s the short medium long term plans/strategy is for the club, regarding infrastructure, the stadium and the academy. If you understand we are more likely to get some communication after the transfer window is closed
What was the point of this thread ?

Why are you so sure that they will say anything? I reckon if they had anything else they wanted to announce publicly, they would have done a press conference when the deal was confirmed. The absence of such, combined with their statement, indicates to me that they said everything they want to say already.

"Like all Blades fans we want to see the Club competing in the top-flight of English football consistently, not just on a one-off basis, and we have been encouraged by the strong start to this season." - This is pretty self-explanatory, and was pretty much common knowledge - you don't buy a team competing at the top of the Championship and not want to get them established in the Premier League.

"The team has been performing strongly and we are committed to supporting the management team to continue this progress." - Same as above - reinforced by Wilder stating in press conferences that he was told they would provide transfer funds for this window.

"We want to take this chance to assure the supporters that we understand the huge responsibility that comes with owning Sheffield United. The club is rooted in the fabric of this great city and our fans are the beating heart who back the team no matter what. Our fans will be at the heart of what COH stands for, and we are deeply committed to ensuring Sheffield United is accessible and affordable for our supporters." - Nothing specific in here of course, just standard fluff to excite fans and generate a positive view of the new ownership regime.

"COH Sports is committed to organic and sustainable growth in all areas of the Club. At the heart of the group's plans will be a best in class scouting network, data, analytics and to ensure Sheffield United is match fit for the future" - A pretty definitive statement in terms of of strategy here. Not an all-encompassing statement by any means, but a very clear message as to one particular target.

I’m not being short sighted. I’d just rather see what they do, hearing anything would be a bonus
