At the beginning of the season, a favourite chant for travelling Blades was "shoes off if you hate West Ham". The reason being, it's a bit daft and is a very visual protest.

This was taken on-board when a section of fans chose to demonstrate against Bryan Robson in the car park at Bramall Lane.

So now. Protest = shoes off
