It's difficult to sign those players when you're in the PL, never mind in the Championship. The expectations on transfers are absolutely ridiculous.
I think 17 clubs typically do a good job of having those players each season?

After spending hundreds of millions of pounds and paying triple our highest earner, yes, at that point they manage it. This is only possible after multiple seasons in the PL or risky spending by seriously rich owners.I think 17 clubs typically do a good job of having those players each season?
Exactly, and one side accuses the other of conjecture and then conjectures an opposing view.
Yep, whats the bloody point of this forum? Might as well shut it downWaffle, waffle waffle. Not one person on here knows anything about what is happening behind the scenes but come up with this that and the other.
Best to keep it shut!
Well the Burnley supporters who knock around with a good friend of mine said they were good to watch at home and solid and effective away. They enjoyed the season more or less from start to finish. I saw them quite a few times, same as Leeds, and definitely the football was much better than ours and more efficient, hence 100 points and promotion.Wilder did well, don’t get me wrong, but he/they came up lacking at crucial times with no plan B and the play off final was a typical game we had seen many times last season. We have to change our way of playing,it’s still the same from when he left the last time.I agree he's a successful championship manager, but his football was derided by Burnley fans all season, just as much as Wilder's was.
I don't think it was way ahead of ours. They had a bigger budget, better squad and finished one place above us.
Quicker. It's been three weeks. I'd also query why they offered him a new contract that he signed if they weren't 100% behind him back then. It's not like Wilder has suddenly changed methods or our season totally fell apart.Maybe they are basing it on more than one game?
When would you like them to decide? Quick or longer?
Last seasons 16 wins by 1 goal masked the performance issues that we had. His management of the JTW signings investment made us worse. Even if we had gone up, I think he'd still have got the sack given his .48 PPG PL record being a major risk. These guys are investors 1st, fans second.
AI doesn't factor all the off the field problems that need managing.
There's often a unwritten reason why free transfer players are free, Shackleton springs to mind.
Those are factors that no Artificial intelligence programs can assess. So if we're feeding it garbage don't be surprised with the output it provides.
The only viable issue is whether there is anyone better to manage the club today?
I did note Klopp was appointed as been Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull this year, the Dirties owners.
Maybe that is the model our CoH have in mind a global head of some repute

I can still list a bunch of players signed by Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford that cost £20 million plus and were complete flops.
Fair enough, if this is the level of discussion we're having; let's just sign a team full of players from Boreham Wood, Ilkeston and Halifax that have the potential to play higher. Inevitably they'll all be mint and we'll shoot straight up to the PL and stay up.Because only players with enormous price tags can ever become PL level talent. You'd never sign someone for peanuts from Boreham Wood and develop him into an international level player who beat England in midweek. That never happens, so we shouldn't try. Much better to buy Kieffer Moore and Tom Cannon instead. They're known Championship quantities and we're a Championship team, so that's what we should do.

Just because a player is over 25, it doesn't mean they can't step up. Didsy, Baldock, Fleck, Stevens, Norwood, O'Connell, Egan, Basham all managed it, why couldn't Cannon or Moore?

Regardless who’s at fault it looks like the owners and Wilder do not see eye to eye. Result, UNITED SUFFER.
The intransigence of Wilder is well known …….
………... But could Wilder do this?
It's make your mind up time Wilder or SUFC?
Did you watch Fleck play for Coventry in league 1 and say, "that lad would be quality in the PL"?If you've seen Cannon or Moore play this season and you're still asking that... I have concerns.
Did you watch Fleck play for Coventry in league 1 and say, "that lad would be quality in the PL"?
Or Basham ambling about like Bambi on ice for us, playing CM in a 4-4-2 in league 1?
On the other hand, Kieffer Moore has already played multiple seasons in the PL and scored goals...
Chris Basham played in a side that finished 11th in league 1 and he played terribly. Have you forgotten?Fleck and Basham played in promotion winning sides. Cannon and Moore play in promotion squandering sides. Big difference.

Both Cannon and Moore got promoted out of the Championship last season.
We’ve signed a player from Plopdiv, organised our pre-season friendlies, yet we can’t meet to discuss the most important job in the whole business for three weeks because of holidays? It’s not reasonable.
If he gets another payout, all the fines need subtractingHas anyone thought of the possibility that Wilder wants to be sacked (so he gets a payout) and is pushing the agenda? He does have previous.
Nit picking ...is that one of your hobbies Shawn.“organised our pre-season friendlies”
Was the board split over the York game?

Most people before last season thought we'd do well to get top 10 bearing in mind the shocker we had in the prem, if we had scraped into the play offs then ultimately lost would Wilder be getting this amount of stick from the fans,?? It seems he is a victim of his own successAll this, "he got us 92 points" is bollocks.....it ultimately lead to failure. Plus the football was awful to watch, i can recall 2 possibly 3 games where i cam away thinking we played really well. we only scored 3 goals twice in the regular season....
It's time for change, otherwise we stagnate.
It’s been a long meeting….
I'm clearly not most people then, 3rd best budget, and that squad was not just top 10 nor is that what he would say to his employer at the beginning of the season or at Christmas I imagine. Most people before last season thought we'd do well to get top 10 bearing in mind the shocker we had in the prem, if we had scraped into the play offs then ultimately lost would Wilder be getting this amount of stick from the fans,?? Budget is irrelevant, he re built a completely new team to compete in what is one of the toughest leagues in Europe, and achieved 90+ pointsI'm clearly not most people then, 3rd best budget, and that squad was not just top 10 nor is that what he would say to his employer at the beginning of the season or at Christmas I imagine.

It's tiresome.
How can the budget be irrelevant and him building a team is his job. He didn't do it out of charity that's the expectation, surely?Budget is irrelevant, he re built a completely new team to compete in what is one of the toughest leagues in Europe, and achieved 90+ points
