First of all I'd like to apologise for the attraction us blades seem to have for polls
but i'd like to know properly before the next manager is appointed, who our favourite was.
However, as this was done earlier not so well, i thought i had to do a better one
and see who our favourite is.
(no offence to the earlier poster)

Can someone start another one he's missed Steve Evans off

Why not Brian Deane he wants to be a manager, got some experience and is a blade.
There are plenty of other names out there too and its not impossible for us to tempt a manager away from another club either.

I have the greatest respect for Deano. However, I think he needs more experience as a coach in England, before we even consider him. There are managers out there who. may be unwelcome at tea parties, who have a raw rough edge and self belief ..that has paid off in getting teams out of this league. We should IMO only consider those who have PROMOTION third Division on their CVs. The more promotions the better

Past performance is no guarantee of future returns, just saying like

Have you got bog roll roll your neck and work for Andrex:D.

Adkins, Warburton or Karl Robinson. get either one of them in please

I agree with this post. My worry is...

1) Adkins - must be holding out for Championship
2) Warburton - is rumoured to be holding out for the Championship
3) Robinson - has just got promotion to the Championship

I think Adkins is the most likely of the trio. He presumably would like to get back to the North and he definitely likes a project. Also, given his most recent job, he may be damaged goods insofar as the Championship is concerned.

I genuinely don't see why Robinson is being linked. We hardly took the chance last time we could have got him in, and now he's just got promotion. Odd that anyone thinks he's likely.

If we end up with someone like Parkinson, I will weep.

Robinson may want to prove he is a good manager, is he really going to achieve anything bigger than the Championship with MK, I doubt it, but yes i'm not saying he would just hopeful I would like to see his style of play at Bramall lane

Didn't KR turn us down before we appointed Weir? Or was that just a rumour?

I remember it being strongly rumoured that he was just about to take over, and then for whatever reason it fell over.

In the pool of managers we will be looking at I would suggest there is no ideal candidate. Managers at this level have some successes and some failures. They wouldn't be coming to a league 1 club if they didn't.
So I suppose we are looking for someone who tends to have more successes than failures

In this category I would think

Adkins - Done well at Scunny and Southampton, failed at Reading
Robinson - Took a while to get MK up but on limited resources was thereabouts each year
Alexander - Done very well with Fleetwood

Jimmy Floydd and Warburton- Instant success but are they one season wonders. Difficult to judge.

Steady other types are Dean Smith, Mark Cooper Rob Page who have done a reasonable job on limited resources.

Whoever we choose I would imagine it will be the same as normal by no means unanimous approval but we will support him until a batch of bad results then twitter and FH will spontaneously combust.

So who does everybody want?

I've listed based on bookies and names that I've heard bounced about.

Phil Parkinson seems to be favourite. If we get him that is a massive backwards step IMO.

We've clearly got money behind the scenes as we have just paid off an entire management team and backroom staff for the second time in ~18months.

Still thought we should've given Clough a bit longer, but hey ho.

From the list above I'd like to think we could tempt Sam Alladyce but I very much doubt we will. Everybody else on there Parkinson, Hill etc. are just a sideways if not backwards step.

Steve Evans as much as a dick he is knows how to get promotion and surely is a massive step-up for him

Graham Poll? Well at least we'd get the refs on side...

Adkins, But I'm putting my faith in the board to get the right man for the job.
