New Kit for next year?

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about a new kit next year? Rumours about a change in kit manufacturer, in particular Adidas has been banded about. Also possible change of style to commemorate 125 years!

Some great kits in this link from you lot, for me:

  • Red and white simple stripes (5 red not 7 so thicker width) no patterning of any type (I'd be happy with the 125 pinstripes for one season only, but only with black shorts and socks, then use it as an away shirt the following season) and I don't especially object to a blocked red back so at least you can see names and numbers. I don't especially mind very thin black pinstripes outlining the stripes as they make the red stripes stand out from distance.
  • Black shorts with red/white minimal trim
  • Black socks (our most used option traditionally) with red/white trim on the tops only (but ban the players using white tape for shin-pads as it looks crap) and whatever socks we go with from Adidas, I'll live with white, but I don't want red ones or any worse still any version of the hooped things, they're so NOT us.

Away ? Look at all home kits in division and then come up with something that won't ever clash avoiding the need to mess about with multiple changes. Ideally some combo mainly blocked white. The 'German kit' in the thread is great. I liked our black and red diagonal slash in the 70's a la Man City. I recall a Shoot poster of Cliff Calvert on my wall in it when we used the city arms as a badge. And after looking for it, here is (I think) the very thing..........LOVE Google, ha ha.

Happy with proper yellow, or lime again, NOT canary yellow as now.

Goalies ? Less of a debate here, all in red, or black. Or even green.

Sadly bottom line, all this speculation, it's out of our hands, unlike when they used to give us a choice to some extent. We'll get what we're given. You would have thought, that with prior consultation, involvement and majority agreement, they'd sell more of them.....just sayin'..................

the bottom one in yellow would be my choice for away kit.

I'd be happy with something along the lines of this (with a couple more stripes) for home shirt

I don't think that Shoreham View kid understands what getting a big brand means to the club with regards designs etc.
It's nothing to do with big brands. Would you consider Macron to be big? All brands have templates and we will get one of those templates.

This season our home shirt is the same as Real Betis last season.

Unless you're a big club you won't get a unique kit and even then it's probably the same as someone else. .. Chelsea have a Adidas home kit like no other Adidas kit in the premiership, however it's the same template as the Bayern Munich shirt... What I do expect is to see that template used more widely this season so expect the likes of Southampton, Sunderland, Fulham or even us get Chelsea's kit this year in a different colour next year

I hope it's the Condivo 14 template, i don't like the adidas logo in the middle. The socks MUST be white as well, the kit looks really smart with white socks. To the person that said it's tradition to have black socks, this is not the case - since 1960 the kits we have had have had white socks 15 times, black socks 14 times and red socks 10 times.

Here's a quiz question. Which are the three current League teams who wore red and white stripes before United? (nb There would have been 4 if Lincoln had not dropped into the Conference).

Sunderland, Brentford & Stoke?

I actually liked the year the club gave us options of kits and was done by vote, I personally think that is a good way of maximising shirt sales.

Sunderland, Brentford & Stoke?
A good effort there, White Hawk, but the answer is Sunderland, Stoke and, surprisingly enough, Wolves. Historical Kits has their stripes looking more pink than red but 100 Years of the FA Cup, which came out in 1972, had a contemporary newspaper cutting in it which referred to Wolves in the 1889 final against Preston wearing red and white striped shirts and black knickers.

Think there is a photo of Fred Tunstall about to celebrate his goal in the 1925 final in the book you have. I have not seen any other photos of Fred Tunstall goal and the book you have might be the only book/magazine/programme that has the photo of the goal

It's just struck me that a bunch of fans with no relevant skills or experience can knock together dozens of decent (or better) kits in five minutes.

How does someone whose job it is come up with things like the diamond monstrosity or that awful grey third strip with luminous yellow trim from a few years ago?

Looks like there are plenty of good options, would be a terrible shame if we don't get a couple of nice kits next season now!

Punk Blade I seem to remember that Bassett had a hand in the design of the diamond kit... He said something along the lines of " I think our fans will love it". We didn't. It was shit
