New Kit for next year?

OK, I'm old-school,I love Gazelles, I believe adidas World Cup ('78s) are the best boots. I'm into la marque aux trois bandes or whatever it used to say on the box.

BUT

adidas don't often get the sleeves right on striped football shirts. Stoke and Sunderland have ridiculously mixed up sleeves. In the past they have left white sleeves with the three thin, trademark, stripes down them and that makes for a terrible, too-white kit (see the Colchester v Blades video elsewhere on this forum).

But it isn't beyond adidas to put together a lovely shirt as this picture shows;good adidas shirt.jpg

But adidas designers get obsessed by the 3-stripes down the sleeves and it doesn't help!

my advice,

KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Best away kit we ever had was all yellow!

You're right about it being yellow but you got the wrong one

I found a 50 best kits ever thread on a site and have to say (as it will always be) it's down to personal taste and knowledge.
http://www.complex.com/sports/2013/11/best-soccer-kits-all-time/

They have some kits on there that are plain (very plain and boring) shite.
The Fiorentina kit on there is rubbish and they have picked completely the wrong Ajax kit.
This one is far superior

The inclusion of the Hull kit is just wrong in every way.

Also the 1989 United away shirt is better than many of the kits listed.

I suspect the author of the list has much knowledge of 'big' clubs when it comes to football but it ends there so they have missed many many better kits than those listed.

That home version is revolting. We're Sheffield United, not Stevenage...
It's an away shirt mate. Here's my home one, as already posted...

Edit: Also we know we'll have to settle for a template but there's still plenty of choice. Adidas have released 10 templates for clubs to base next seasons kits on, seen here: http://www.footyheadlines.com/2013/08/adidas-14-15-2014-15-teamwear-kits.html

So, we can be creative to an extent and have a completely different kit to anybody else.

Here is a pic of her wearing the shirt, spoilt by the typical (pre) teenage girl pose and hairy Dad plus Uncle . I believe it was 86/87 season which with a bit of research means the most likely wearer of it would have been Arnott, Dempsey or Kuhl.

I see that the uncle got the match ball then ;)

Only 1 of them is stripes and has a solid back, that's a big no as far as I'm concerned

Heh, fair enough, thought you'd taken on the 125 anniversary kit and made it into a home version.

No to the solid back for me thanks - not that I am planning on buying one to wear - just like to see a striped shirt with, well, stripes on it, thank you.

If it's a case of not recognising a player cos you cannot see the number on the shirt then thas not a real Blade
You should recognise them by their face, hair, stature, the runs they make, the positions they take up and the way they move.

Problem is that FIFA see it as a game for commentators and TV viewers - the TWATS

I like your design, maybe with even red shorts instead of black. Do we really need black shorts?

Seen us wear red shorts with the home kit before and thought it looked smart and different. Just my thoughts anyway. Happy with the change in manufacturer that is for sure.

Well feel free to use it and improve it. UTB

Flaming Nora, there are some sartorially inept suggestions here.

Might I suggest, each new design is accompanied by a photo of the contributor in clothes he or she deigns 'stylish' please?

Then we'd see the cut of your jib.

The picture of the Blades at White Hart Lane also illustrates the fact that there is no difficulty telling Spurs and United apart and consequently no need to ever wear a change strip unless away to a side that wears red. So that means Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham but not Chesterfield, Leeds, Huddersfield or the Piggies.

Since we obviously can't have blue on our away kit that kinda limits our choices, but it would be nice to have some red in it somewhere. Not all black though because it looks crap and not all white because we certainly don't want to look like Leeds.

Hands up who likes the Cameroon look.
