Why the fuck would we want to generate an atmosphere at the Lane after all this time? Atmospheres are just for foreign grounds and big clubs like Crystal Palace. It's just not the Blades Way.

Ah be careful though Jon Bon, don't forget it's not about noise any more it's about numbers. And our numbers absolve us from any criticism or suggestion of improvement! It's something we've copied from Wednesday, along with singing shite like Everywhere We Go and booing players during the games. We don't even hate Wednesday any more, as rivalries are so passé. Not the type of thing for a club like Sheffield United, when there's something on the pitch worth backing there is no better atmosphere in England than the Lane. We don't need any orchestrated song and dance routines, leave that to the pigs and their rar-rar band.

I know, we could get a few ultras to put stone island gear on and name themselves "Dave" or "Spike" after the popular tv channels. Always thought "BBC"'sounded a bit bourgeois.

Ultra groups can often be good political causes - St Pauli being the most famous example of this.

However, I do not think this kind of thing would tend to attract a lefty/liberal following here. I'd imagine if you would have taken to the stands with an 'Immigrants Welcome' banner here (like a lot of German clubs did), then you'd have got considerably more stick for it.

I do like the premise of having a group like this, however. They are good at galvanising people together and creating a good atmosphere. I just don't think it has to be under the guise of an 'ultra'.
