Did he mention whether or not he was scared of Billy Whitehurst, I bet he didn't, but I bet he still is!
Can't remember where I saw it and I suppose it came from his autobiography but he talks about a rumble with some Wednesday fans and acknowledges Whitehouse lead with him a step behind.

I did hear a rumour that Vinny was sh*t scared of him and Billy didn't like him. Not sure if Billy chinned him, but he does seem to have chinned a lot of people

I read that Vinny bullied everyone at Wimbledon except for Mick Harford as he was scared of him.

Once, at an England tour, Ian Botham did a practical joke on Peter Willey, Willey responded by throwing clothes from Botham's suitcase into a pool. Botham never tried to do a practical joke on him again

As Rodley says, not in the same league. Jones was just a thug, unlike Billy who, admittedly, was also a thug but genuinely fucking scary.

Not sure how true this quote actually is I found:

Vinnie Jones was taking part in a radio Q&A when a caller asked him what it felt like to be the hardest man in football. “I don’t know,” he said. “Ask Billy Whitehurst.”

Heard a story about Billy at Hull, players went out to a club in Hull, door man stopped them said they weren’t allowed in due to previous troubles, Billy stepped up and told the doorman to let them in, doorman called for another doorman to reiterate the ban so billy laid them both out and they went in

He belittled us in his autobiography by claiming that he kept us up and won the MOTM every week. F*** off!

I read it too (bargain basement buy) and was less than impressed with his wonderful time at DirtyLeeds and then a passing few sentences in Sunny Sheff, despite his first kid being born here. The Billy Tightshirt stuff is bang on. Vinnie was actually quite hard and took it, as well as dishing it out, but he knew when he met a real hard man.

I remember Derby away and a new song, that never really caught on:

Vinnie Jones is illegitimate
He aint got no birth certificate
Vinnie Jones is illegitimate
He's a cockney bastard
BASTARD!

There was plenty of venom in the last line.

He got the record earliest yellow* at Citeh (Maine Road) against Peter Reid and it didn't work, but he did cause Steve Nicholl to bottle it for the Scousers in the 88 cup final.

* He beat his own record playing for Chelsea against us. His 'enforcement' didn't really work against Bradders and Dane.

From a Mail article a few years back....

'Jones respected Whitehurst and wrote in his autobiography of the night Big Billy stepped in as trouble brewed in a Sheffield bar.

‘There were a few players out having a drink,’ says Whitehurst. ‘Next thing, about 30 Wednesday hooligans came in. They started giving Jonesey a bit of stick. Then a bottle flew over my head and cut Dave Barnes on the side of his face.

‘I turned around and this big p**** among them said, “You can turn back around as well, you ugly b*****d”. Well he couldn’t have been talking to me, so I went up to him, “Come on big man, you and me outside”.

‘I floored him with one punch. I thought I’d killed him. The next day CID came to the training ground and wanted to speak to us — as witnesses!’

Jones described the punch as the best he had ever seen, inside or outside of a boxing ring.'

Different times :D

Jones was a tosser. Never a Blade, and did nothing for us. I remember me mum came home with a Vinnie Jones T-shirt. Lobbed it straight in bin. Dick of a player IMO. Headline seaker for me. Just shows his ability in the QPR game.... sent off after about 0.0005 seconds.

Knob jockey.

Outside Henry’s wasn’t it and I won’t name him, but the fat one’s name began with M...

Lot of posture and typical Hoolie bullying, probably dead, heroin or pimping now..

Life’s too short to be a pig.

I remember his first game for us v Southampton away , he was giving it all the fist pumps ,
common let’s get into em
Trevor Hurlock put in a crunching tackle
Not a peep from the flat track bully after that
Guys a fucking joke
