In their current condition, form, age and ability, would you rather have at SUFC

  • Tom Cannon

  • David McGoldrick

Dewy eyed sentimentality is a powerful thing.
It isn't sentimentality. All you had to do is watch the 1st half yesterday and see what both offered in the game.

I want Cannon to come good. We all do. He's just not that good and hasn't shown the desire to work his arse off.

Yeah but not many lads are gonna come off well in a head to head poll against David McGoldrick.

One of the most unanimously loved Blades players of the last 30 years.

We cant afford the tanker of Linament to put on mcgoldrics legs. daft comparison as big macs just not got the pace for the championship which is why hes been at league one clubs for 3 years
Cannon actually got more touches in the box than usual got blocked 3 times

Would I want TC removed from the current team and replaced with the current DM, absolutely not.

Would i want DM in the current team as a squad player for his influence in the dressing room, absolutely yes

Was DM a better player than TC at the same stage in their playing career, absolutely yes I cant think of any TC performance in a Blades shirt that was better than DM's worst performance in a Blades shirt.

They are just miles apart.

I don't think Didzy is good enough to play for us at this level anymore, but I still voted for him.
That's a damning indictment of Cannon's output in a Blades shirt and nothing to do with sentimental nostalgia.
I hope he proves us wrong, but I've been hoping this for 18 months now and no amount tweaks to his position, playing style or striking partner have made him look anything but a sub-par Championship froward.

Couldnt have said it better myself 👍🏻

The trouble is Wilder is still trying to justify the £10m we wasted on him.
The owners or squatters are obviously a major problem
But the problems on the field are all down to the imbecile Wilders stupid decisions
be it pointless possession
2 CB's not 3 with wing backs
the evil of inverted wingers ie playing people totally out of position
(Donovan was literally laughable on Sunday)
refusing to play our young players
dependence on endless journeymen
persistence with his shit signings that dominate too many selections and greatly weaken an existing shambles

Mad that a question was posed of who would we rather have - a 23yo International striker, or a 39yo striker and the forum voted the latter 🤣

Never change united fans. Never change

Not a matter of choice but 100% I would like Didzy in our squad
As a sub I definitely think he could have contributed

Can we please just stop calling this current impostor of a footballer "TC". There is only one "TC", & sadly we will never see his like again.

Whether people have noticed it or not
This comparison actually tells you an awful lot about the disaster that is the imbecile Wilder.

Wilder did not want McGoldrick for free
He wanted the club to spend £5 million and £40K+ per week on the bloke who went to Derby
and took them over the edge into Admin
It is the story of ALL Wilders big money forward transfers

Freeman
Robinson/Burke
Mousset
McDonkey
Brewster
(and now Cannon)

ALL LEFT ON FREES

Brewster cost £6 million a year all 5 years in fee and wages
ALL TOTALLY WASTED
ALL TOTALLY IMBECILIC

McDonkey and Mousset cost £5 million a year

Bear that in mind when again Gus Hamer 'had to leave as we cannot allow them to leave for free'
I GUARANTEE FAR TOO CHEAPLY AGAIN

Has noone in football heard of a cost benefit analysis?
(complicated I admit by injury concerns)

Campbell is the best striker at SUFC
He is the only one that can run in behind
onto forward passes somebody has designated all can play now

Although by the time the imbecile has done
we'll have no one with any quality to make good defence splitting passes

He came on a free - we were cutting back
When we had (borrowed?) money he wasted it on the shite that is Cannon BALLS

Now Campbell is being frozen and forced out
on the same imbecilic premise 'that we cannot allow a player to leave for free'
Even when we got him for free.
but can waste millions a year on shite like Cannon and Captain Clown Tanganga

Bamford free and One cheap (fee and wages) are also clearly far better in different ways to Cannon
who if he had been an academy player would have been released years ago and been nowhere near the first team

ps although One was apparently injured at the start and looked totally unfit v Huddersfield
he looked better/fitter at Mansfield and if you are normal sized
The sight of that massive bloke bearing down on you
With the ability to go either way as he can shoot and cross with either foot can be terrifying
I expect him too to be gone if Wilder is allowed his endless thirst for expensive journeymen
and/or shite of other 'better' academy whose players he has never been able to judge.

Why is this written like it's a poem?

I'd take a current day Jordan Slew over Cannon.

I don't know if it happened or not
I avoid most things football because whilst Wilder is here my club is totally ******
But days ago there was a report of Stoke making a ludicrous £10 million bid for a mediocre George Hirst.
My first thought.
Get on the phone and BS the alternative of Cannon
We don't want to sell
We think he will be a top player
as you saw when he was the leagues leading goal scorer with you!
But we have to make cuts after losing the parachute payments and we know he would be happy returning to you
I would have been trying to get the £10 million back
I would reluctantly be offering him as the better alternative at £8million than Hirst as a second stage
The BS would be endless
It would be like listening to the BS of the imbecile Wilder
BUT I WOULD HAVE TRIED!
Despite knowing he is shite
Did the imbecile think about that?
(Does the imbecile think at all?)
Did the endless legions of 'men working tirelessly in the background to get the best deals for United' do anything?
I DOUBT IT IN EITHER CASE
IT WOULD BE GREAT TO (even eventually) hear THEY TRIED TO DO SOMETHING SENSIBLE FOR JUST ******* ONCE!

FFS

Typical
The ONE bit of GOOD news we have had all summer
And the imbecile 'sees him as a key figure in the clubs long term plans'
Serves me right.
I KNOW the club is ****** with the imbecile in charge.
I should except that NOTHING good can happen whilst he is in charge.

I did think he would improve with Bamford around but he hasn't.

I voted McGoldrick.

I see both sides. Didzy will only get worse and there is no improvement potential. Cannon might get better and has the potential, due to his age, to get better. however, he might just remain shit and leave on a free in 2 years.

In current form, McGoldrick would contribute far more with less minutes on the pitch.
