Nerves

I've got enough going on at the minute outside of supporting United that I haven't got much time to focus on Saturday much. Most of my nerves will build up on Friday I imagine.

I always get a bit tense on these occasions. Not just play off finals, but on those days where we have actually/effectively secured automatic promotion I've been pretty anxious too.

I tend to struggle with anxiety anyway, so it's nothing unusual for me. I'm just trying to maintain a positive outlook, so I don't spend my free time in a constant state of dread.

I reckon Sunderland give us a lot of the ball early on but will harry and chase, we need to be ready to move the ball quickly from the off to get into our stride
I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most observant with teams etc to recognise all the intricacies that we should look to counter. I'm more old skool, Sunderland are underdogs (not by much mind you) and we are favourites. If we can strike early and get their heads to drop a bit I think that could help. They may have a hail Mary second half but that should give us good counter options.

In all honesty though this is a game quite difficult to call and I do genuinely believe it's somewhat in our hands really so i think we should really be going in positive. Shame we're Blades and we can't do that mind.

I am not nervous at all, excited, yes.
I have confidence that we will compete because our players want to win.
Chris Wilder wants to win. He is one of our own.
I want us to win. I have never had this feeling in all our previous playoffs.
UP THE BLADES.

As we know the vultures are already circling above this game. For the victors, riches beyond your wildest dreams, having the ability to retain all your players and have the newly acquired clout to attract new ones…Whereas the losers get picked over like a dead animal carcass and lose most of their best players…That’s what makes me nervous.

Agreed. Yes it will be crap if we lose - but not like the loss to Hull in the FA Cup semi where a win would have given us a Europa League place, or the Hudders loss after the Ched season when the pigs snatched automatic.

If we lose we know we'll probably be among the better teams next season, as opposed to the PL where avoiding relegation will be a massive achievement. Of course I want us to win, but it's not going to ruin my summer if we don't.
why will we be among the better teams next season- best players off and a complete rebuild

Unlike previous games we have a fit squad (maybe Seriki will be a miss), we won’t have players sent off for simulation x2 yellows after just coming on, we have the better squad, we won’t be 0-3 down by half time. It just can’t be controversial in any shape or form. Play, win and celebrate. It’s our time, the stars are aligning over Bramall Lane.

What makes me nervous. VAR, referee, Robinson in that order. Otherwise I think we're the better team carrying good form in to the final.
