The topic of our former manager appears on here with metronomic frequency, and the same old arguments ensue.

So how does everyone view him

Is he viewed as the man who was the messiah, who came in and turned round a club that didn't have a pot to piss in, and was struggling at the bottom of the second tier and fighting a relegation battle; in to a side who forced their way to the top table of English football, and was unlucky to lose our top flight status after some machaliviallian skullduggery from the corrupt PL and West Ham

Or

Was he a self centred pernicious wanker, who was more a bigger fan of Neil Warnock than Sheffield United, a man who openly courted other jobs motivated by greed, and a man who took greater interest in his new contract and allowed his judgement and concentration to slip to such an extent that we lost our top flight status due to him failing to select a side that could beat a poor Wigan side.

I've not selected a middle option, as Neil Warnock is like the Brexit of football, some people fervently adore him and can see no bad in him and would even frantically mastrubate over a laminated photograph of him should they have one to hand, or the mere mention of his name is the vehicle that forces people to froth at the mouth, spouting vitriol and bring forth accusations of treachery and disgust.

Besides it is my poll and if you want a undecided option you can fuck off and do your own poll.

Vote away lads and lasses

took us on some great journeys .forever grateful gets a like from me

He did very well to get us there. He's just the job if you want to get the best out of limited players for a limited time. Not great to watch apart from the Lord season.

He's never been a top flight manager. Consistently out of his depth at that level. Not the man to manage players of real quality.

Huge fucking hooter.

Me, I like me, me.

The first of only 2 managers I actually remember giving my team a promotion to boast about.

Will always have fond memories of the good times thanks to Lord Warnock... however much of a pernicious wanker I think he is :D

Somewhere in between for me. Triple Assault up there with the best ever seasons and promotion to the Prem was great. However he was split the fan base and I felt with his antics over the west brom debacle along with his touchline histrionics reinforced the cloggers perception of sufc.

Thankyou Neil, but that was History, lets get on with the here and now.

Not a neat answer, I bloody love the bloke, superb at what he does and gave us some terrific memories, amongst our best ever.

Also undoubtedly a bit of a wanker as the OP put it. That's oraight though isn't it?? We've all got mates who are a bit of a twat but you still love 'em.

Good old Neil, bit of a twat, but our twat.

Great manager and gave us a load of good memories. I reckon when we look back on Wilder's time here, he will have topped those of Warnock.

He's a wanker, but he also gave me some of the most exciting, succesful times I've had watching the Blades. I'll always have time for him, but I sincerely hope that CW eclipses his achievements in the next 5 years or so. Lord Wilder is a Blade above all else. NW is a Warnockite first and foremost, and a Blade somewhere behind that.

outstanding manager, worked miracles with us, but he has carried that on since, what he did at rotherham was nothing short of extraordinary, and now he has cardiff on the up, tactically naive at premier league level but at this level i don't think there is anyone better, barring tufty of course

I really can't see any blade singing he's a wanker,or i hope they don't as he was good and knew how to get out of this league. He's like a poster said he's marmite hate him or love him.

Absolutely love him. He's a blade through and through. And made us the best Sheffield United I've ever seen in my life time and likely to see

Deserves some credit as one of only 3 managers to get us into the top flight in my lifetime, and I'm a lot older than you I think, but I'd put Harris and Bassett above him. I'm hoping Wilder will be the 4th and we'll both get to see United up where we belong again :)

UTB!

Bet Tufty loves him.

Fuck Warnock, he's not here, Wilder is the man and will overtake anything Warnock did.

I hope CW surpasses all of them. It's the hope that kills you.

Can't name any mangers who have proved themselves so consistently in the champ.

Blade at heart.

Luv em

no one is perfect - mine's a "There IS only one NW"...............although he is Colin for 90 minutes tonight ;)

Excellent manager at this level and gets the best out of players that work hard.

It's a bit of both and I'm not being bias because I was aware of his negatives even when he was our manager BUT overall his positives just outweigh this negatives. He's alright.

Positives
Good personality, he's always come across well when on the radio which is the reason why he was a guest presenter on Talksport radio.
He has charm, tells fans and players what they want to hear, instantly gets the fans on side
Very enthusiastic and a winner, invariably this attitude gets passed on to his players.
Loves playing the pantomime villain, good sense of humour and doesn't take himself too seriously.

Negatives
Very egotistical and loves himself before anyone else, so lacks loyalty.
It's never ever his fault, if his team win he always praises the opposition saying what a great club who will have a good season
But when his team loses he always blames the ref, the pitch, the weather and never praises the opposition.
He's a bullshitter and always bigs himself up, bigs up the fans, bigs up he's club.
When he was at Palace he kept saying how they were the best fans he'd ever had
When he was at Leeds he was always saying how great their ciudad was and has the best fans
He's now at Cardiff and he's been telling them how great their fans are and how it's such a great club.

Bit of both but I've voted in favour.

He's gone down in my estimation since he left us though, mainly due to some of the comments on various subjects he's made.
