Neal Maupay

He’s hardly in the know, he’s not revealed any info or updates, apart from he knows nothing about interest or bids.
So the logic is if he knows nothings then there can’t have been any interest.
Apparently everything in numerous papers and on Twitter about several clubs showing interest must be made up.

Banana hasn’t made any predictions based on his insider knowledge either. He doesn’t even know of NM wants to leave or stay
Or if he’ll be offered a pay rise and contract extension.

All he’s done is continuously repeat a reported 20 mil selling price quoted weeks ago and explained that BFC don’t negotiate, that’s hardly in the know lol.
Hi Mr Steel

I am certain that NM will want to leave if a PL club comes in for him. I am also certain that he won't be leaving unless that club manages to remit the equivalent of a guaranteed £20m into BFC's bank account. I am certain that he has not been offered a pay rise or contract extension.

I have never said "BFC don't negotiate"

Right, and what's the point in getting ever more turnover if you're - at best - staying still in the league? Or have they changed the aim of football and it's now about transfers rather than points?
If, like several other owners, Benham had been prepared to ignore the Rules and just plunge his money onto players (transfers and wages), we might possibly have been up by now (see eg QPR).

But had we done so, without the rest of the supporting infrastructure, organisation and personnel in place to support them, a small club like ours would have little realistic hope of surviving.

And were that to happen, it might not stop with just one relegation (see eg Sunderland).

But if we can keep on increasing our turnover and reducing our losses, sooner or later we'll be in a position to really go for it.

And Benham will recognise that point before any of us.

If you were that ambitious wouldn’t you have demonstrated it with your new ground? The thing you are building is hardly a PL venue is it?

Oh fucking hell you've started something now.
50 pages now on Brentfords business model, a full breakdown of the planning process and evidence of studies into ground size/turnover ratio

It's quite simple.

You accused me of acting as though I'm ITK on this.

I have never done any such thing.

Again, do due diligence before making incorrect accusations.

I haven't accused you of being ITK. If you can demonstrate otherwise all well and good, you've been proved right. The trouble is you're wrong, you have no evidence to suggest I've referred to you as ITK.

I advised you earlier, you're confusing me with someone else. You're either a mentalist or too arrogant to admit you're wrong.

Fair enough....i think that the issue is
1 club might be testing the waters regards offering Brentford 18 million up front, no strings attached.
Another club might offer 15 million with 5 million add-ons based on appearances and goals,
Wouldn’t surprise me if we’re offering 13 million up front with 7 million worth of add-ons, much of it based on us staying up.
Then I reckon we’re also trying to agree a big % of any future transfer fee.

My point is that sometimes accepting the lowest payment up front bid can end up being the most financially lucrative paying out nearer 30 million in the long run.
Also I think that the players wishes come into effect at some point. If a player is prevented from progressing then it can damage morale.

My prediction is if Brighton sell Dunk for 40 million (or whatever it is), then surely they’ll just offer a straight 20 mill that you want.

If Kieran Trippier is going to Atletico for £20m it's very hard to believe Maupay is worth the same amount.

205 pages. Over 4,000 posts. And fuck all content.

What's pretty clear to me is:
  • We have been in contact with Maupay's agent
  • We have been in contact with Maupay himself
  • We haven't submitted an official bid
  • There's a gap of £5-£8m between the market valuation (£12-£15m guaranteed) and Brentford's valuation (£20m guaranteed)
  • It'll probably take Maupay agitating for a transfer for it to go through

If he's only worth, say, £12-14m, and Brentford are asking £20m or thereabouts, why hasn't s.o. from Sheff U called a halt to things and moved elsewhere?
How do you know we haven't?
Personally I'd tell him to go shit his bed. 20m lol.

None of your combinations will happen. It's £20m PLUS add-ons, not £20m INCLUDING add-ons. Especially add-ons reliant on you staying-up. We might take such a deal from Manchester City based on staying-up and value it differently than a similar add-on from you. No offence!

I'm genuinely not being 'Billy Big Bollocks' when I say this, but BFC have no choice but to do things differently.

Because if we tried to compete with other clubs on level terms, then we'd fail.

Which is only a recognition of the fact that we're a small club, with not much of a history, not many supporters, a stadium which is a quarter century out-of-date (at least), and a location which has over a dozen bigger clubs competing within a 20 mile radius.

For me, the key to all this can be encapsulated in one game in March 2014, when Bees went to Orient in a League One game, with both clubs pushing equally hard for promotion. Brentford won 1-0 and afterwards, O's manager Russell Slade complained that we had "celebrated like we'd won the FA Cup".

Fact is, we might as well have, since we went on to gain promotion, the O's fell away, and within three years they were slipping out of the league at the same time as we were enjoying our third season in the Championship.

Today, not one single player survives from either of the sides which took the field back then, but while they're now existing entirely on free transfers and loans, we're buying players for up to £5m, and selling them for £15m+ - completely unprecedented for either club. (I've just checked, and the record fee paid by Orient was £175k in 1989 and the record received was £600k in 1981)

Which as I say, is not to "big up" ourselves, or "do down" Orient, but it does need to be appreciated if you're to understand what we do and why.

Meanwhile, Sheff U look to be doing things in a more conventional way and it's v.successful for you, so fair play!

But it does mean you ain't gonna get Neal on the cheap! :D

Sheffield United are far from conventional. We could be described as out Brentfording Brentford. One only has to look at our wage bill and net spend under Wilder. Oh, and the pioneering style of play.

Not sure you would have been in contact with Maupay himself as there's no need for you to have been, and would constitute an offence.

Rest of it seems reasonable supposition.

Enough of all this, let's get the real information we need.

Who left the lid off the jam? Come on, own up, somebody did. One of you chuffs made a jam sandwich and now we have this infestation.

Maupay sat with Bettis in main stand tonight

I think we have the culprit, arise sir Davalon of Jam.

Prepare for the swarm

I think it might be time for you Brentford boys to go and bother the Villa fans or somat

As you can see, there's nowt happening here and reading you lot going around and around in circles is complete waste of everyones fkin time

We'd all best get on the Bees board and keep up with developments then. We can swarm them with our BDTBL updates. That comment....😂Still chuckling now. 400 pager by season kick off lol. Guinness World records claim if there is such a category.

Like I've offered another Bee, I will bet 20 quid, or even 50 that
A) He won't be a brentford player next season
B) It won't be 20m quid that he goes for.

Absolute bollox as usual this thread started 7 months ago “we haven’t submitted an official bid”😀😀😀market value 🤣has he been agitating for 7 months ?

OK, Maupay may have accidentally dialled Wilder's number. Or been passed the phone to hold while his agent went for a lengthy shite during negotiations.

Presume that opening two words was a description of the effluent that followed?

We clearly haven't put in an official bid.

Nobody is willing to pay £20m otherwise he'd have gone. That means the market doesn't value him at that price.

I haven't said he's been agitating at all. I said that's what it will probably take for him to leave.

The intelligence you're displaying is an insult to stripy flying insects. Buzz off, nobeard.
