VAR would rule that out this season :(

I'm worried about VAR I'm not going to lie. Goals being ruled out for toes being offside etc. As a striker you look down the core of a defender to gauge where you are. VAR should only be used when everyone in the ground, apart from the ref, knows there's been a balls up!

Absolutely agree, stop the complete cocks ups and real injustices. Had Norwich scored last season for eg. Leave the rest.

Mike Riley has said that's all they'll be doing in the PL. But lets see. I get it from a refs point of view in the way they'll be analysed and the hammer they get for getring often tight calls wrong so the directive needs to be so strong from the top to ensure it runs smoothly and works for refs, players and fans!

Anyone care to summarise?

Absolutely. Strap in tight...

Were 161 pages and in excess of 3,000 replies deep... Literally nothing has changed. Nobody knows anything, could be coming, could be going to Villa, could be going elsewhere... Could be staying at Brentford. A disappointing amount of tits have been posted.

Maupay released to go home ....so he's signing for someone this week ...really hope it,s us .....Villa now bastard favourites

Hoof it was just a turn of phrase, maybe I shouldn't have used it. Wanting a big CF suggested to me that a high delivery would be the tactic employed, or else why do we want a big lad up front?
I was just saying that I don't think that is the way we will go. We don't play that style of football under CW.
I will add... Sala, Sane, Aguero, Sterling, Messi and even the great man himself Sharp are all 5'8
I only said it wasn't a necessity for us going forward and progressing this season.

Double ton in sight!

Not sure I’m following?

Also don’t buy the “to sign early next week”. If he was signing for definite he’d have signed already and be announced. Is there some football law that players can’t be registered over the weekend? Or do our camera guys doing the fancy videos have weekends off?

Sounds like we were pretty close at one point. We had a fee agreed with Brentford of £12m up front with further staggered payments bringing the deal somewhere between £16-20m (depends on what reports you believe). Unknown whether a formal bid has actually been submitted, Brentford fans suggest one hasn’t.

The Agent (presumably at the 11th hour) has demanded an £800k Negotiation Fee which we have refused - hence, we’re now in deadlock and struggling to make the deal happen.

Seems there is now interest from Aston Villa and Bournemouth which (if it crystallises) is likely to scupper the deal.

Fingers crossed, as I think he could be a big player for us and has seemingly been Wilder’s Number 1 target since the end of last Season.

Maybe this is about him having issues with his agent holding things up, would maybe explain the going home to France bit rather than Brentford simply saying he has been given permission to talk to whoever

I want a squad that’s as successful as possible and couldn’t give two hoots what nationality they are.
Having a single nationality squad helps being successful. It’s better for morale, confidence, atmosphere in the club.

That’s not my opinion, that’s Kieron Dowell in an interview last year.

No bids but head not right so spending the weekend with his family. Expected at training on Tuesday. However, this usually only ends one way, whether it's you or someone else.

Another thing to add is that a ITK with a half decent track record very confidently announced on Thursday that the Morpay deal has finally been sorted/ agreed by all parties. Apparently we are waiting on a few minor formalities and the deal will be announce either Monday or Tuesday next week.
It’s significant though that there’s been no further update from RC since he said that the deal has hit a snag due to agent demands.

This “no bids” thing is a bit of a red herring.
It seems that clubs are clearly discussing an agreeable price with Brentford before any club will make a bid.
Clubs are obviously verbally making offers/ bidding but nothing formal in writing until Brentford agree.
