NDiaye. Will he go in January?

Disagree with you there. MGW and Eze were both more influential (and younger). Ndiaye is not that far off, but certainly not ahead at the point they left.
Agree to disagree mate, all I’ll say is age can be and is irrelevant when discussing potential, who thought Ian Wright and that prick Jamie Vardy would go on to do what they did, from where they were, at the age they were at?

Ndiaye wasn't as good as MGW last season. In fact I've have put him maybe third in terms of influence in our team behind MGW and the fully fit Berge, but it's clear as day he's a different animal this season.

For me the best I've seen in red and white in my 30 years

Unless it's some dream move, I think too many factors against Ndiaye going. New owners, our position, what we would ask for him now, the better options he would get in the summer. As for Berge, I simply think his fitness has done for him getting a move at a price we would take, even with our history of lowballing.

Some reports indicate that he had left BW before we signed him.
He had, said it further up this thread, also mentioned it a few times on here. Lazy journalism that says we got him from Boreham, even said it on tv while he played in the World Cup that we got him from Boreham when in reality he had never played for their first team, he refused a contract and left them and was playing Sunday League for Rising Ballers.

Although he was a free agent I’d say we had to pay Boreham a nominal youth development fee though, bit like a 18 year old academy player refusing to sign a new contract and leaving us, he may be a free agent but who ever picks him up will have to pay us a youth development fee.

Five games before the window closes. I think it could also depend on where we are after them. We could be sweating on third place or twelve points clear. I reckon the better we're doing the more chance is we'll hold on to him but it could work the other way round.

Agreed. (Not sure about the buying club). Ndiaye will attract a bigger, better club if he stays a blade. His first half dozen games were cut short by cramp remember. If he stays and improves his and blades reputation by scoring and assisting more goals, he will get the club a bigger fee, and he gets a better wage and a better club out of it. No brainer, win/win for both sides.

The club was more based on a recent interview he did, if you’ve seen it, where he said it’s his dream to play for them. So I just took a bit of a leap!

I’d much prefer to see him go abroad for sure

I'm not usually one for going overboard (there were some bonkers claims last year about MGW being our best ever player), but it's becoming harder to resist the idea that he's up there.

Certainly in my 40 years as a Blade and while they were actually wearing red and white (eg Walker and Jags flourished most after leaving us.)

My assumption was based on going to a bottom six PL club now, or a better PL club later.
Didn’t see the club interview, and although I didn’t think about outside the PL. a top European club would be ok.
Resigned to losing him eventually. It is a different club today than back in Dick Wragg’s time.

If we do sell him then we need to make sure there’s a loan back until at least the end of this season if not the end of next season

You’ve got to assume that someone will make a tempting but not quite tempting enough offer. Any less than £30m and it’s not even worth considering, £30m or more and it will be hard for the club to turn down.

I’d expect Boreham Wood will be on a chunky % as well.
With the takeover no ins or outs I guess

Depends how far down the line it is (not very far according to the ITK folk) but there’ll be an agreement to do certain things within the remit of ‘normal’ operations. Transfers are ‘normal’ operations so we can’t just do nothing while we wait.

Honestly quite simple You don't sell the riches of the premier is worth far more

When was the last time we lowballed ?

Ndiaye should consider what he wishes for.

Should he leave for an existing Prem club, he will be low in the pecking order up top, they all have multi million players there already, and whover he plays with ( if he gets on the pitch ) will already have existing systems to play within, and will not change that just for him.
In the World Cup he had cameos but not in the areas that suit him, and they were looking to feed the ball to other players & not him.

MGW is struggling to get a permanent starting slot for Forest, and they look like being relegated

If we go up which is looking more & more likely then we will keep most of our squad, and build the team in the same mould we are using now around players like Ndiaye , Brewster , and Berge.
He will have a starting slot in the prem. in a team that is built to play to his strengths, and show his best abilities.
He will be a prominent fish in a team set up to feed him the ball in the area's he wants it, and given the chance to showcase how he can make this team great.

In my opinion he has more chance to shine staying with us, he is young and if he wants to re-assess his situation following at least the first season in the prem with us, then that probably makes more sense.

We're in a strong position financially and in the league. We have no great need to sell him. And I can't see a Premier League team stumping up silly money for a player who, let's remember, is only in his second season of professional football.

Also, looking back over recent seasons, I can't think of any Championship teams that lost their star in January. Birmingham had one of the best young players in the world (Bellingham) on their books and didn't lose him in January! The likes of Adam Armstrong, Benrahma and Lewis-Potter all stayed until the end of the season despite Prem interest.

Piss off a fan base?
You say that but You and I know going up is far more important
Going up is a lot more lucrative, but if someone offers money in January it’s guaranteed, promotion isn’t.

Logic says if we keep this squad together we have a very good chance of promotion but there are a good few reasons why we might have to consider decent offers for our players if they come in.

We've seen some real talent in other areas so I'm not going to say "best ever" when you look at the career Walker went onto (not that he plaed many games for us), but he's certainly a one of a kind for the type of player he is. Jags and Walker were classy players, Maguire was solid as a rock. They weren't ripping up teams with their skills though.

The only player I can think to compare him to was the tragedy that was Kabba. I still feel robbed he didn't go onto the career he deserved. That's the only striker I can think of for us that terrorised defences with pace and skill, and he didn't have half the flair of N'Diaye.
