I'm not sure that's right. Baldock found himself I'm advanced positions several times on Saturday and his checking back and / or poor crossing continued.
Perhaps he should not have been that far forward, but with such a advantage in goals thought he would wander forward and then wonder what to do !

Perhaps, but SJ seems intent on us dominating the ball - you would think that kind of ball retention in the final third would enable our full backs to push up to create an overlap. In those positions you'd always want Bogle over Baldock. Granted, at the other end of the pitch of course you'd want George. I guess it's a case of seeing how things pan out.

Case in point: 9m17 in the extended highlights. Baldock has the freedom to get the ball set, get his head up and either pick out a teammate or drill the ball in towards the group around the penalty spot. He does neither, instead massively overhitting his cross. It seems a little churlish to pick fault when we're 5-2 up but it was really, really poor.

Ps apologies if the screenshot comes out huge

It's a shame for him because if he adds it to his game he's a PL player. Without doubt somebody would have picked him up because the other facets of his game are excellent. But he's been here a while now and there's been very little improvement in it.

Like you say, even if he just drills that one into the crowd there's half a chance it drops to someone.

I was at the West Ham away game a couple of seasons ago, he got in around the back a few times and his quality was appalling to such an extent he felt it necessary to apologise on social media afterwards.

It feels harsh because he's such a good pro but I really just want him to get better.

He could visibly see how frustrated MGW was getting with the lack of quality from both Baldock and Sharp. Others seriously need to step up
