Politics aside, there’s no doubting his talent
Don't get me wrong he's a good player we all know that and it goes without saying. But I'm still bitter and childish😂 but I do wish he was still here.

Isn't it sickening when you see Ndiaye , DCL scoring in the PL ?

But the only way for us to survive in the PL is to become a player trading club and ensure our conveyor belt of talent keeps rolling out gems like Osula , who'll be the next one in the headlines

Nah sod him, he's part to blame with owners for that terrible season.

Dragged out contract situation all summer and said he would sign, then decided last minute just before season starts he's leaving, which left us in the shit and needing to replace an irreplaceable player for us at that time... which we didn't do.
If you was in his shoes would you do any different i know i wouldng. I can't say anyone would. The option comes along late to go to the team you've grown up supporting. Yeah like anyone's going to turn that down. I see why supporters don't agree with I'm not saying I did. But I can also sit back and look from both sides which not many can

Nowt against him going to "his" club. Everything against him deciding to do that in the manner he did.

It’s not sickening at all, in fact it’s something to be proud and the reason why our Academy is incredibly successful.

A good example is Sidie Peck, he could have stayed at his boyhood club Arsenal and no doubt has a chance to join other decent clubs
But he’s heard about the massive success regards our Academy, Harry McGuire, Kyle Walker, Kyle Naughton, Dominic Calvert Lewin, Aaron Ramsdale, Illiman N’Diaye plus others. This kind of record sells itself and was the main reason Peck joined us.

Also to survive in the PL we don’t need to sell any of our Academy players. We’ll be able to afford to keep every player we develop.
However it’s common sense, if a players reaches a level where they outgrow us, then it’s best for everyone is we cash in
Making sure we charge above a normal valuation, then we use those funds to make the squad even better like a Brighton.

but the options was there long before he decided to go. He was turning them down until his dad got involved and also they gave him the ultimatum. It wasn't as if the options (and they was more than OM in for him) came at the 11th hour.

If he wanted to play for them he should have gone at the earliest opportunity instead of telling us he's signing for us playing friendlies and dragging it out.

If shoe was on other foot and United came in for me, I would have been gone at the very first point of contact (again wouldn't have been last minute), I wouldn't leave it until last minute and the club I'm at in shit because I have integrity.

I have no qualms with him signing for another club even if it wasn't his boyhood club, its the way he went about it, which as been discussed plenty of times over again on here.

Everton will stay up, unless disaster happens. But, I did say to friends - especially with our new owners, who knows how deep their pockets are? - If Everton went down & we went up, with Everton's FFP issues, if they still have them(?) we should table a bid for Illy & bring him back.

But, it's a hypothetical. They'll stay up & it would be silly money and obviously never happen...

So you think he did it deliberately to cause us trouble and grief???
I'm thinking he had a personal dilemma where he himself wasn't certain what he was going to do until the very last minute.
It happens to lots of individuals in lots of ways 😣

I think he would've stayed that season if we were building something, making good signings and getting ready to compete. The reality he saw was a club in a fucking shambles of preparation who's only solid business was to order in a batch of white flags on eBay two weeks before the end of the season.

Arguably the most gifted Blade I'll ever see did not want to waste a season in our shit show. He made the right decision for his career and we lost our on a huge pay day

It's funny how things pan out.

Ndiaye was our true key player in the hecky promotion season. He really was difference and had that extra quality that I'd say no other side had that season.

Had he stayed that may have seen a knock on. I still suspect Berge may have left but it may have made him think twice. When Sander left he could see the writing on the wall.
That said Burnley wasn't exactly a great choice but it's led to him being at Fulham now and likely PL footy for a few seasons. He's doing well too by all accounts.

With Iliman though I do think he wanted to stay here but was given the ultimatum of "now or never from Marseille".
It's a bit like one of us having that said about the united if we were a player.

But it didn't really work out for him and that dream whilst realised didn't go down the way it should.

He's now flourishing with Everton. It's a real shame we never got that last season because he was such a big player for us and I do genuinely think we'd have picked up more points with him.

This all said Ndiaye leaving kinda paved the way for Souza. (Not good last season though) And then with Berge it paved the way for Hamer. And it's difficult to think how the team looks without Hamer right now.

Watching players like Ndiaye is what made me fall in love with Football, what made it exciting. Football is too dull and calculated these days in the Premier League. Players like Ndiaye are few and far between. We were lucky to have seen him for the time we had him, it's just shame we couldn't have kept him to it for us against the best teams.

A once in a 40 year or so talent, you probably have to go back to Tony Currie to find a player of similar ability who can do it at the top level.

A player as good as Ndiaye was never going to stay for long in my view unless we turned into Brighton etc and even then I'd have expected him to go at some point. I'd just look at it as want it great to have a player of that ability.

I wish him all the best even if how he left wasn't great but we've not heard his side neither.

The DCL one is far more annoying because we sold him for peanuts, but with the money we sold from him and Che Adams Wilder brought in the likes of Clarke, Fleck - high wages I'd guess as a free, and O'Connell.

David Brooks who is another of course likewise was sold and we signed several players as a result and got promoted.

Tbf, DCL took 80 PL games for Everton to start being good enough. He fell into the perfect circumstances where he'd get to play a lot at that levelx despite not producing

No? Why do you assume that's my opinion when I've said nothing of the sort.
I'm thinking he had a personal dilemma where he himself wasn't certain what he was going to do until the very last minute.

My actual take on the matter, is that I don't care if he had a "dilemma" or not.

The player had 2 options. He had chosen United. He allowed things to progress so far that we had shirts printed with his name and #10 on the back for promotional purposes, and videos recorded for announcing his new deal. At that point, there should be no more room for hesitation. He should have had the respect for the club that, even if he had lingering doubts around Marseille, he would honour the contract he had agreed to sign.

Instead, he showed his true colours. He demonstrated that he didn't care, and that he was willing to throw us under the bus rather than being a man of his word.

So I don't dislike him for joining Marseille. If they are his club, then I can wholly sympathise with the choice. But he absolutely should not have allowed talks with us to go as far as they did before he threw things back at us and scarpered.

Think his father had a lot to do with his decision, basically making him choose. SUFC or his home club which his father for various reasons was apparently very much in favour of

See what you mean but what could we have done differently?
His contract ended. We offered to make him the highest paid player at the club and he still eventually refused. How do you make someone sign a contract when they want to leave so they can advance their career, receive an even bigger pay rise and experience a nice climate in the south of France.

I think we hopefully now have ownership who have the resource to manage the squad in terms of contracts a little more actively, particularly top talent. Additionally you’d hope if we got promoted we’d build a better squad to “have a go”.

Only JLT Anel and Brewster still playing for us who also played with Illiman. Bitpart A Davies and RND excepted. Turnover massive

Bitpart Andre Brooks, Arblaster and Seriki as well who all made a few appearances with Illimam, mainly Brooks and Arblaster from those 2 Championship seasons.

Brooks played the sum total of 2 minutes (plus injury time) with Ndiaye (on as an 89th minute sub against Burnley in the league and Wrexham in the cup replay)

Arblaster a little more: 72 mins (plus injury time) against Hull (2+ mins), Stoke (24+ mins), Burnley (1+ min) and Cardiff (45+ mins).

Seriki never played with Ndiaye.

Wasn't sure if Seriki ever played with him or not, think he only made 1 start in 21/22 against Forest.

Brooks I thought might have had more minutes with Ndiaye as he was always on the fringes of the first team squad, didn't we play him and Sachdev as wingbacks for 1 game against Stoke in 22/23, when Jags scored to make it 2-1

Ndiaye was an unused sub for that Forest game.

We did have a scratch squad for the Stoke fixture but it was RND and Ky Gordon as full backs. Brooks was an unused sub; Arblaster came on for McAtee on 66 mins. Sachdev came on for his debut in place of Gordon on 75 mins. Stoke's third, scored by Liam Delap, came from a Tyrese Campbell pass.
