and we get rid of those how? by paying them up? spending money to get rid of them?

Paying them up would have been an option yes. Im sure carney could find a club back in OZ on loan or a free. We got Hendrie for free and massive wages so just offer him out on a free. Sharp, get him out out loan as well with a view to full transfer.

3 very bad transfers there in one season! AWFUL!!!!!

Just who is going to want to pick him up on a free and pay out massive wages?

Carney and Hendrie are on the list, we can't force people to take them and whilst we have a squad so small... we probably need the bodies!

Carney has never been given a chance, he plays awesome for Australia, but i dont think ive seen him play more than 5 games constantly in Red & White.

Same with alot of players we have signed over the years.

Barely kick a ball before we let them go.

I think it's going to end up right back in our faces because if he has a good season, his value would have shot up.
I'd hope that there are sell-on clauses involved in both transfers. It wouldn't surprise me to see a bigger club than Spurs sniffing if either or both have a good season. I can see Naughton ending up at Man Utd if he has a good season at Spurs.

Paying up Carney and Hendrie means that they have to want to go, otherwise they can refuse to be paid up and stay with us. Given that choice I'd rather see at least Hendrie stay, and try to justify the money he's had so far to keep him in fake tan and fuel for his Bentley.

I would hope that Walker comes back for a year, along with Adel Taarabt who would be a very good player for us i think

Keith Edwards has applauded the news that negotiations are ongoing for the return of Kyle Walker next season - despite him and Kyle Naughton joining Tottenham Hotspur in a double deal.

The ex Blades sharpshooter was pleased to hear that although Naughton has already joined Spurs immediately, it is believed that England U19 International Walker will be loaned straight back for the 2009/10 campaign, subject to the appropriate permission of the leagues, which will ease Kevin Blackwell's team selection.

This is ace:

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell said: "Having Walker available is a very important part of our strategy and it's exciting to have the chance to talk with Tottenham and judge whether any other of their players might fit into our squad.

So important is it that we sold him to another team...

i hav,nt got a problem with the 2 kyles going, the question is who is going to replace them.if its someone a little more seasoned with a bit more craft and guile then fine, but if we are going to be lumbered with players of the calibre of beattie (craig) and going back a bit further james thomas, micheal twiss and ian hamilton to name a few then forget it, keep the money in the bank and bring more academy players in

The point i was trying to make in my earlier post wasn't that we've sold both Kyles to spend on replacing them so whats the point. It was that at least SOME of that cash will have to go on replacing them, which will then probably leave us about 6 million to spend on other areas (assuming that we did get the 8 million quoted all over the place). With that 6 million who are we gonna get? It probably won't be the proven creative midfielder that we've needed for ages. It probably won't be the striker that we've needed for ages, it'll probably be someone like C Beattie for 2.5 mill and some other dross for the same, and a couple of free transfers.

I'm more gutted of the fact that united won't have walker and naughton on the next football manager, when they are half decent!!!

but given the choice between a couple of £5-6 mil rated Right Backs and an average strike force, or an average Right Back with a £5-6 mil rated strike force which would you pick?

We've spent approx £4 million plus on 2 of our strikers...... look how far it gets you sometimes.

Which suggests to me that we need to spend a little more next time!
Hopefully by selling the 2 Kyles we'll have the funds to do this.

Sounds like he set up their goal. I wish him all the best at Spurs, just hope he gets games and doesn't get his career ruined there.

Very true.
Spurs since Jol was there seem to like buying players they never (or rarely) use, who end up rotting for a year or so and going on to do nothing with the likes of Fulham

I was thinking more along the lines of Ched Evans.
Not long to wait (hopefully!)
