Thomas probably loaned after playing vs Preston, resting players and new signings cuptied.

We don’t know the budgets at SUFC and although we have spent a bit maybe there is a little pressure to balance the books with wages and a few sales.

We have spent £1.9million if the press is to be believed 750 x2 and 400 + wages etc.

He would fit into a system that plays wingers.

We could sell him and have a sell on. So then if he does reach the heights some think he does we can cash in then.

I would like Thomas to stay, offers something very different, pace and power, bit unpredictable, good to bring off the bench to really shake things up.

Great shot - from outside the box.
Something we have been lacking since .... ????
FFS John Buchan (or whatever) commented the other week (Sunderland I think) how well he struck the ball.
And don't tell me the new signings have it.
All we had last week were misses and none have records as good as eg Ben Whiteman at that level.
A player we need is Brooks and he could be sold or have zero impact for the rest of the season with his illness.
Fact is we need a good cup draw with guaranteed income and Judas to add it to the budget to prevent us from risking running out of players, as we did in the first half of the season.

Not seen much of RIcky Holmes shooting ability? And who is Judas?

Needs a loan spell. Needs a good run of 15-20 league one games til end of season

With him not being in the squad today it's probably safe to say he's off. Hopefully on loan.

Where is he going? Shrewsbury? Anyone heard anything?

Shrewsbury on loan until the end of the season, we rejected a full transfer, and the situation will be reviewed again in the summer.

That'll be a good move for him as long as he gets plenty of game time. Considering his length of contract, I bet he'll be worth more following it if Utd are considering cashing in

THOMAS LOANED OUT

Shrewsbury Town have signed Nathan Thomas on-loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season.

Looks a good move - if he can contribute well to a promotion campaign in League 1, it could turn out to be in everyone's interest.

Would've rather kept him here if we're not strengthening down the left side.

Given that we now scout players properly I'm really surprised we signed him in the first place. He's never been in Wilder's plans at any stage. It was just an absolute hopeful punt it seems. At this stage it has to go down as a mistake.

Well, like I have said before, I saw him a few times in the youth set up, at Hallam FC, etc., and he always looked good to me, strong and fast and with a very powerful shot.

So even though we often joke about it, I genuinely want to say Good Luck To The Lad

Good for him to get some game time but it limits our options. Not that I think we'd ever play wingers.

It's refreshing that Wilder can see it and admit when a signing of his isn't working and just deal with it, rather than persevering when it ain't working to save face like lesser managers often do.
