Very interesting defender playing for West Brom. Ferguson is a very progressive defender who can play in the centre of defence and as a fullback on either side. He could be a very good backup option for 300k compensation as his contract is up in the summer, Ferguson pretty much ticks all the boxes for a Sheffield United defender, he is a tough tackler and can pick out a pass, long or short, he also likes to venture forward usually down the left hand side which could make him a good option. Ferguson has made more progressive runs this season than JOC and Bash combined, he also has a better pass completion rate than both. He also has the same crosses per game as JOC and the same key passes per game as Bash. Wanted by Palace, Atleti and Juve though so probably won't happen but a man can dream

Thanks Nathan Ferguson.

Venturing forward, usually down the left hand side is the norm for a left back isn't it?

Played left back only this season, so he's bound to get forward and put crosses in more than our centre halves.

I'm sold anyway.

He's played LB and RB this season for West Brom but last season he played CB for their U23's and plays CB for England U20's

If the £300k is right and he’s as good as you make out, then its exactly the sort I’d like to sign 2 or 3 of and loan back out for the rest of the season. Huge potential upside. Its happened to us enough over the last 10 years, why not put the boot on the other foot- do unto others, and all that biblical bollocks.

He either goes to a bigger team or stays at West Brom. We're no man's land for him unfortunately.

u reckon? a rotation/starting spot in a top half prem team (hopefully) is a bit more than no mans, especially compared to trying to get even a single appearance as an u20 at the elite european teams

I reckon atheli/juve etc will be agent talk, how many players do you see linked to huge clubs only to go on to join mid table PL clubs? quite a few i reckon

Seeing as WBA are looking good for promotion back to PL he may prefer to stay put getting regular first team football which he would not be guaranteed elsewhere.
