Crystal Palace are being linked with a move for Hearts' French striker Christian Nade who is another of Neil Warnock's former players.
The 23-year-old was with Warnock at Sheffield United and the Eagles boss remains an admirer of the forward who may well be keen to move back south of the border.
The fee being mentioned is £500,000 and Hearts are likely to do business at that sort of price after Warnock confirmed his interest.
Currently holidaying in the Maldives, Warnock exclusively revealed to the Evening News: "I've spoken with Hearts briefly.
"We have a list of targets and his name is on it. He's one we rate and, obviously, I know him from my time at Sheffield United.
"He's unpredictable and I know that. I'm away until June 10 so I won't be doing anything about it until after I'm back. I haven't spoken to the player."
