The whole shooting match at BDTBL stinks...................... but hey don't worry McCabes the best we've had

The club's stagnating and has been for a long time. I said last year we are in a race to the bottom without new investment and fresh ideas, it's really a question of how low the bottom is.

The defence started well this season but I think most people knew that Maguire with his inexperience, and Collins and Simmo from our experience, can always throw mistakes in. In the last few games, all three have cost us points. What the defeats have highlighted is the shortcomings with the team in terms of taking chances and breaking down the stronger teams in the division. As bad as yesterday was, and as with the Huddersfield game, we had chances to go in front and it could have been a different game.

All in all, I agree that we are probably about where we should be, the division is there for the taking for a half decent consistent team and to be honest, both Charlton and Huddersfield hardly tore us apart, they just did a job on us as we did against the likes of Oldham, Brentford etc.

We definitely need 3 or 4 additions and the pace we've all been crying out for. Whether it's time to give the likes of Philliskirk and Tonne a chance I'm not sure but if we stick with what we've got, it's looking like we're going to be a top half team in the hunt for play-offs. Whether DW will have the means to make changes remains to be seen.

Dare I mention the "R" word. We are already a quarter of the way through the season. I was one of those saying last year....dont panic, we have the resources to stay safe :o
The warning signs are there....lose to top sides at home and minnows away, no goal power and a leaky defence....thats relegation form. We cant carry on blaming bad luck in front of goal its becoming so boring each week trotting out the old " we had the chances but didn't make the most of them". The so called strikers have to take responsibility for failing to score
We have been missing a leader on the pitch ever since Morgs was injured, someone to boss the team on the pitch. I said it three years ago and nobody seemed interested, that we needed to find a replacement for him when his time was up as a regular in the back four and captain. Like most I hope that he will return and take up where he left off...is that likley though after such a long layoff at his age.
Worrying times!

We weren't sat in the play-off places this time last year though were we :)

I agree about the leader though, we've had Bodie and Doyle as captains of late and neither are providing what we need in terms of leadership. I was disappointed with McDonald yesterday but yes, the spine of the team is weak at the moment from the keeper through to the talismanic striker. Another issue for me is the lack of options from the bench. We can't get away with having McDonald, Bodie and Doyle in a 16 man squad given that DW obviously also wants a sub keeper.

True. Wednesday have overtaken us as much as the sea bed overtook the Titanic.

heh.. thanks for the replies esp Kenilworth.. fuck me that was some rant eh?.. just got back from the game.. my problem is that i can touch type :D

I'd have to concede that my annoyance with Evans is not just because he's shite, but because of the huge salary he draws. I think the huge salary is what makes some others strangely still make excuses for him. There's something in the human psyche that drives them to think that it isnt possible that someone who conned such a salary can actually be the park footballer they see on the pitch. Perhaps even Wilson is still bamboozled by the number of 000,000's on the deal we struck.

Perhaps Managers have the problem in their heads that replacing a guy on £20K [or whatever] with someone on £5K is a backward move and one step towards the sack. Who wants to bring on their own downfall?

Perhaps so, but replacing them with someone who can acually do the job they are employed to do will surely be a good idea all round?

Interesting, but a bit radical

Blackwell was set on because he "Knew the Club"

Micky because he "Was a Blade"

And Danny Wilson because "He has a Villa down the Road from McCabe"

I dont think doing the Job actually comes into it
