My Worry for January

I’m worried like most Blades are, but Wilder’s latest comments made me think.

He’s saying he’ll work with what he’s got and get the best out of them, rightly so.

But what happens if he gets the likes of Campbell, Peck etc firing again and their value shoots up?

Come January, all it takes is a decent offer and I fear these owners will simply sell.

That’s my biggest concern. Wilder could end up increasing the value of the squad, only for the owners to cash in.

They look financially driven rather than football driven, and I worry the priority is recovering their money rather than building Sheffield United.

It’s a blessing that we have owners who are financially driven. Of course there needs to be a balance.

If they were football driven like what fans want it’s a gamble.

If it works you end up like Nottingham Forest however it’s more likely not to work and you end up like Sheff Wed if you ignore finances and keep spending driving up debt.
