I’m worried like most Blades are, but Wilder’s latest comments made me think.

He’s saying he’ll work with what he’s got and get the best out of them, rightly so.

But what happens if he gets the likes of Campbell, Peck etc firing again and their value shoots up?

Come January, all it takes is a decent offer and I fear these owners will simply sell.

That’s my biggest concern. Wilder could end up increasing the value of the squad, only for the owners to cash in.

They look financially driven rather than football driven, and I worry the priority is recovering their money rather than building Sheffield United.

They aren’t just selling players to recover their money because they can’t take the money out of the club.

It would be investment suicide to sell up everyone to the point we were relegated.

I think that they are trying to balance the books and plug the hole left by no longer having parachute payments in an attempt to make us look a better proposition to a new buyer or investor a little down the line.

As a championship club we are probably still worth 60-70m as a league one club probably half of that so I think they will tread a fine line for a while doing just enough to keep us safe.

If Cooper was fit all last season he’d be gone. Oppositions seem to be targeting keeper on corners this season Davies is the worst keeper ever at defending corners. The thought of him in net is so scary.

But to replace them with a loan (not ours) and let’s be fair O’hare hasn’t been replaced nore has Gus in reality too

The value is irrelevant to us fans, partly because they’re generally undisclosed, but also because we’re not managing the budgets. Brooks apparently wanted too much in wages, O’hare and gus will have been on top wages, so we’ve reduced the wage bill a lot.

Of course, ideal world, we don’t lose any of them but that’s not the world Sheffield united are ever in

O’hare is almost like for like with loanee Donovan, Gus hasn’t been replaced. BBD could be as consistent as Brooks, possibly.

Our squad is very light up top now. We’ve lost very good players but again, that’s the shitty world were in with much less revenue coming in

Most likely we’ll be up for sale by Xmas anyway. All this crap with Prince A, the COH/1919 change, the stadium maintenance(infrastructure) and now the August firesale - all point to balancing the books. Think we’ll be sold for circa £60 million - leaving Prince A to have to fight Helmy & Rosen in the US courts separately for his £35 million.

Id say its a problem if he is 2nd choice yeah. If theres an injury and you throwing a 16 year old in goal theres going to be issues. Its not like putting a 16 year old in up part of the pitch where inexperience won't cost us is it.

If he was that good to stop into a championship game at 16 he wouldnt be with us & hed be stating cup games..

Have we been asset stripping? Pretty sure we’ve taken good money for three players.

I agree that we want to keep our best players and the recruitment has been loan heavy, which is worrying as always, but that seems to be the way we do business with parachute payments or not

On the January point, if we have players performing and at their peak we should be looking at contracts… Campbell has extended his contract.

And if we’re performing and up the top end of the table, we shouldn’t be selling as easily

Selling players at what the club sees as above their valuation isn’t necessarily asset stripping, it’s running a business without parachute payments

Whilst I don’t agree that bringing loans in gives us a settled squad, it’s allowed us to bring in players for the season. It’s short term thinking but low risk in the long term

I’m not a fan of these owners, I think they’re behaving like shysters and they don’t know how to run our club the way we want. It’s not a sustainable model in the long term. However, we have a squad now until jan and hopefully we can bring in some frees as well
