Made some good saves in difficult conditions loses half a mark for the Kamikazi run outside the box much like the one the previous week but he did redeem his error. MOTM

Given a torrid time by Sterling but still managed to get forward at times, loses marks for messing about and not getting the cross in when he had the opportunity. When he did cross deary me George the pitch isn't 100 yards wide.

Average by his standards looked like Bambi on ice a couple of times.

Solid game made some good tackles and interceptions.

I thought he had a decent game today much better than his usual this season.
Lowe 6
Average some good bits some bad but only his 2nd start at this level.

As good as he was last week he was poor today gave the ball away time after time.
Berge 7
Difficult game for him considering the rest of the midfield around him. Looks to be the only one who can play at this level with any consistency. The only player who can go round a man and put a decent cross in, once or twice a game is not enough though.

Good last week anonymous today, not good enough for starting games long term, back up seems his level.

I know (tin hat time) won a lot of headers not really his fault if his strike partner or midfielders don't get close to him. I feel sorry for our front two whoever they are as they get no service while we fuck about out wide and don't get the crosses into the box.
Brewster 6
Bang average you can see he has not played much football recently, looked a bit weak but he is young. Got behind the City defence but fluffed his lines it was a very close offside call though. He will get better after a few more games hard to be thrown in against the best two teams in England.

Now is the time for Wilder to stop the ‘Woe is me’ bollocks because it’s starting to get very boring. I don’t mind us losing if I know that we’ve given our all but he’s sending the team out with a ‘defend and hopefully we may get lucky’ mentality. I hate to say it but he’s lost his balls lately. They had 16 shots and 8 on target. That is a hell of a lot for an away side. They did not go more than 5-10 minutes without Ramsdale making a save and got through us constantly. It should have been 1-0 long before it was and it was coming for some time. Egan did well for us but the rest of the defence got beat time after time individually and collectively with no midfield protection at all. Granted Sterling De Bruyne are fantastic but they did not do that to West Ham, Leeds or Leicester.

If Mitrovic takes 3 golden chances we lost to Fulham too. They were all better chances than anything we created in the same game.

Thats not 5-0 stats though is it. They were the better side but you are exaggerating things as usual.
I would expect their xg to to be around 2. You have become a very negative poster.

If City are more ruthless and Ramsdale does not play so well with 2 or 3 good saves and 2 excellent ones; they score 3 or 4 more goals. Maybe not 5-0 but 3 or 4 would have been much more realistic for how the game went. 1-0 massively flattered us.

They had numerous chances from start to end and got through us time after time from the 4th minute right to the 85th and that was barely getting out of 1st gear. We had one shot. ONE. Off target. Not sure we had the ball in the box more than a few times in 90 minutes.

West Ham last week and quite a few other teams have caused City problems.

So not sure I've exagerrated anything. All the above are facts.

There is being negative and being realistic and describing what actually happened even if you don't like it.

Last week we played well at Liverpool and I said as much but today we poor and boring to watch and barely looked like mounting an attack let alone getting anything from the game.

I'd love to offer more positivity but I'm not going to just say things I don't see or that are not happening.

Unfortunately you’re spot on Deadbat. The players are struggling and finding matches harder to compete in. We’re simply ‘hanging in there’ hoping that we’ll get a break from a set play or an opponent’s error.

To some extent the margin of defeat is protecting the team and wilder from greater criticism, certainly from the media, but also the fans. Yesterday, it should have been a beating, City toyed with us like a cat with a mouse and should have been more ruthless. Their manager was clearly annoyed they didn’t kill the game off much earlier, as that’s what top teams should do.

If it had been a 4-0 or 5-0, we would have had no complaints. We were toothless throughout and looked out of our depth. Out luck will run out soon, if we don’t change our approach and start to improve.

Given our conservative approach it’s unlikely we’ll get a thrashing but I think Chelsea is a dangerous one. On their day they’ll score plenty and lampard is itching to make a mark and probably wants to make up for last season’s results and one and a half game’s performance too.

Something is rotten in the state of Sheffield United this season. Wilder has to sort it out very quickly. The players need help from him. We don’t want to disappear without a fight, it’s so frustrating.

The manager has epitomised the team since he arrived and vice versa. Currently, neither seem to have their true identity. If this run continues, it will be painful to watch wilder’s post match interviews because he’ll sound more and more like every other manager of a team getting relegated. For the last four years he’s offered something so fresh, positive and United, I’d have followed him regardless but currently he’s really struggling.

Going to have to disagree slightly on that point. He’d been in a few minutes and had the ball on the far side near the half way line and about 10 clear yards in front of him. First thing he did when receiving the ball was stop, look around and then pass it backwards. No driving forward into the space. Exactly what he was brought on to do. I like Lunny but it’s time to cut him loose from the match day squad.

I agree we were poor and they didn't have to get out of first gear but there was not shot after shot raining in on our goal as you suggested.

But poor as the play up front has been of late what we have to also remember is if it does continues like this until Christmas, (God forbid) at the end of the season goal difference could turn out to be a very important thing for us ....

I think that is the only consolation so far that our losses have only been by the odd goal, the way this season is going that could be like an extra point on the last day.

I think the pressure of trying gain our first win is starting to get to us a little bit. Nobody expects anything from this clutch of 3 games. But we went all out to beat Fulham but in the end failed to do so.
If we didn’t think it was going to be a difficult season before that game, we certainly did afterward.
I really think that knocked the stuffing out of us more than any of the defeats.
We’ve really lost our swagger and look frightened to death when we’ve got the ball.

I actually thought Baldock played quite well today to say he was up against Sterling who was awesome at times. Crossing was piss poor tho.
I’ve been saying for some time that Berge needs to get a grip of the game and start to be our main man. He’s certainly good enough. Even against very good players he looks their equal. McB is just not good enough even though it must have been so frustrating for him and Brewster today.
The ‘overlapping centre backs’ are no more and 3-5-2 is not right for us at the moment.

I agree, we’ve got to be more open to changing the formation or exploring an alternative way of playing.

Brewster 6....he did absolutely nothing the entire game...no runs in behind, no runs down the channel, hung around the centre circle all game and the one chance he got he missed (cant remember if he was offside or not).

Apart from when you see the analysis on MOTD the runs he was making in the box into space but the crosses were not coming in. Better delivery he would have had a free header. The run in behind was a close call, ok fluffed the finish (maybe thought he was offside).
