Seams like a few of us are getting inspired to write chants for our beloved Blades !!This is my first ever post, so please be gentle. I am a Blade of 50 plus years so I’ve been to hell and back and back again. After watching our team v Bolton I was inspired to write this ‘anthem’ which is not a replacement for Greasy Chip butty,. This is a ‘call to arms’ a ‘war cry’, to inspire a cavalry charge to get us over the line and back towards where we belong. I would just love it if they would print it in the program so that 20000 + could sing it at the next home match. The tune is to a great song from Les Miserable called ‘Do you here the people sing’ (see attached link if you are not familiar with it). It may be a bit long, but is says it all !!
Do you hear the Shoreham Boys
Singing for Chrissy Wilders’ men
This is the anthem of the Blades fans
So we sing this song for them
When the passion on the pitch
Echo's the passion on the kop
The Red and White Army's march will never stop
We’ve got Freeman, Moore and Hanson
Jack O’Connel, Fleck and Wright
Duffy, Coutts and Lafferty,
Chris Basham keeps it tight
King Billy’s on fire so the future is all RED & WHITE
(repeat verse 1 & 2)
So we're calling on you Blades fans
From the Lane End to the kop
To make some noise and raise the roof
Our team will never stop
Together we'll fight every game to go right to the top !

Ha!So am I ta, and in a similar vein to you I like Pet Shop Boys tunes, quinoa and foreign cinema. I even quite enjoyed ballet.
But people telling trite stories through the medium of bland generic songs? Torture.![]()
Steady on GHBIT , I knew you liked Les Miserables , but don't get too soppy , or sloppy ......My absolute fav musical - tears to my eyes every time (just like United have been doing for many years mostly for the Wong (sorry, wrong - that was another thread ) reason. This would raise the roof and could be a second anthem but.....unless we have song sheets in the program / on the seats / pinned on the wall in the bogs for the next n years it will just be a dream - a wet one though
I had an idea for a blades song using the Le Nozzie de Figaro from the Marriage of Figaro (and I guarantee you've all heard it, but where have you heard it?). Surely the most beautiful sound ever made!
But I thought better than to mention it to a stadium full of blokes who struggle to belt out a rendition of Annie's song without getting into a 20 page rant about the Magnet/Maggots lyrics!
But welcome anyhoo Bowman Blade, can't wait for your next idea![]()
Nah, it featured in the Shawshank Redemption.....Think Ive heard that on an episode of Morse.........Is there a prize?![]()
Well that'll teach me to go all guns blazing with my first post... battered and bruised its off to the pub to sink a few vessels and try and forget this ever happened !,
